Such a delicious, complex single malt, what one can expect from almost every release of A'bubadh thanks to the cask strength. Typical sherry sweetness and then an odd almost rubber band smell. Oak spice and toffee round off the nose. Sherry on the palate as well with an instant heat/spice. Red berries. A dry and subtle bitter finish with a thick mouth coating richness. Certainly benefits not only from a few drops of water but also time to open up.

Glen Scotia Double Cask Single Malt
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed June 29, 2017 (edited June 30, 2017)N: Pine needles right off the bat oddly enough then an almost creamy butterscotch and bees was. Really quite a unique combination. P: Caramel, butterscotch, toffee...it is hard to pin down in this GS. Then that salty coastal note. The PX influence is there too with a rich sweetness that transitions into the finish. F: somewhat dry with a bit of spice. Long and lingering.
