NOSE Graham-like malt, banana, vanilla, honey, dried fruit, cinnamon, light tofffee and vanilla. Soft, easy and pleasant. Nothin wrong with the aroma. PALATE Malty, dried fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nuts and a bit of char and banana chips. Not a super complex palate, but what’s there is nice and warm. FINISH Medium -> Fruity and malty slight char

NOSE Dried orchard fruit, sultanas, oak, sugar cookies, baking spice, Honey Nut Cheerios, dark honey and light herbal and raisiny notes. In an odd way, it’s refreshing. It’s light, but not spineless, it’s fresh but oaky, it’s… kinda odd. Good, but odd. PALATE Dried orchard fruit, dark honey, dried dark fruit, raisiny sweetness, roasted nuts, baking spice, pastries and a slight herbalness. The palate seems to lighten up compared to the aroma, but it’s still good. Delicious even. FINISH Medium-short -> Dried orchard fruit, oak and baking spice with a light pastry sweetness.

Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 16, 2022 (edited August 23, 2022)NOSE Honey, baking spice, roasted malt, leather, citrus peels, figgy sweetness and Honey Nut Cheerios with some dried orchard fruit, raisiny sweetness and a touch of toffee and cocoa. It’s not heavy, it’s more fresh and breezy, but not in a light and wimpy way. The notes are delivered boldly. PALATE Honey, cinnamon-heavy baking spice, buttery pie crust, leather, dried strawberries, Honey Nut Cheerios, toffee, dried orchard fruit and a bit of oak and raisiny sweetness. Like the aroma it’s soft and velvety, not heavy at all, but it manages a wonderful multi-faceted complexity. FINISH Medium-long -> Dried orchard fruit, Honey Nut Cheerios and oak fade with a light leather and strawberry candy sweetness. -

Glenmorangie 19 Year Finest Reserve
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 10, 2022 (edited June 27, 2022)NOSE Malty sweetness, Honey Nut Cheerios, dried orchard fruit, vanilla cake, citrus peels, oak and some bits of toffee and a light herbal touch with some baked goods… waffles? Fruity, pastry sweet and a tad earthy with a lingering note that makes me think of malty Belgian waffles. No syrup. PALATE Malty sweetness, cereal grain sweetness, Honey Nut Cheerios, citrus peels, roasted notes, oak, honey and dried orchard fruit with marzipan-like and herbal touches and again that Belgian waffle hint. It’s not a heavy note of waffles, but there is this continual “fringe note” of Belgian waffles that keeps coming up. FINISH Medium-long -> Dried orchard fruit, oak, HNC and…. waffles. With a touch of cinnamon. -
Glenmorangie 13 Year Cognac Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 9, 2022 (edited August 1, 2022)NOSE Waxy vanilla, nutty malt, graham, cocoa, baking spice and a touch of bubblegum and raisins. Not very deep, but what’s there is warm and inviting. PALATE Cognac, cinnamon-heavy baking spice, malty graham, nuts, cocoa, raisiny fruit and a touch of bubblegum. Richer than the aroma, but feels rather dead mid-palate, like it’s missing something. FINISH Medium -> Raisiny fruit and graham fade to baking spice. -

PALATE Sultanas, dried orchard fruit, toffee, strawberry shortcake, graham, manuka honey, tangerine, nuts and some oak, vanilla fondant, char. Palate of the Glenmo 18 is a near copy of the aroma with the citrus coming through a bit more like tangerine than ambiguous. FINISH Long -> Dried orchard fruit, graham, char, toffee and tangerine fade out to bitter-sweet-oaky treat. -
Glenmorangie Astar 2017 Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 8, 2022 (edited March 9, 2022)NOSE Musty oak, honey, dried orchard fruit, nutmeg, wax beans, aloe vera and touches of vanilla, caramel and banana taffy. The musty dryness is so unique, especially in Glenmorangie. I’ve never experienced it in any other Glenmo, it would stick out like a sore thumb in a blind tasting. PALATE Musty oak, honey, dried orchard fruit, nutmeg, wax beans, aloe vera and touches of vanilla, caramel and banana taffy. A straight carbon copy of the aroma. It doesn’t happen often, but I’m not picking up any substantial difference between the two. Palate might be a touch sweeter (fruity) but that’s about it. FINISH Medium -> Musty oak, dried orchard fruit, malt and caramel. -
