Wyoming Whiskey Outryder (2021 Release)
Blended American Whiskey — Wyoming, USA
Reviewed August 30, 2022NOSE Cereal sweetness, oak, spiced apples, caramel, graham crackers and a slight bit of vanilla. What’s there is nice and fresh, but it’s super light. Much lighter than the previous Outryders I’ve had. PALATE Grainy sweetness, candy sweetness, oak, cinnamon, dried fruit and a subtle toffee and vanilla. Woah, this is kind of weird. The spice starts light, but builds till it starts battling the sweetness yet remains balanced. FINISH Medium -> Grainy-candy sweetness, cinnamon and vanilla fade out oaky. -
NOSE Oak, caramel, dried orchard fruit, baking spice, nuts, vanilla taffy and a bit of orange peel and light grassy notes. Nice. Easy, simple, decent regular bourbon. PALATE Oak, caramel, dried orchard fruit, baking spice, nuts, vanilla taffy and a bit of orange peel and biscuity notes. Has a bit of bisciuty note, but basically the same as the aroma and just as nice in a basic way. FINISH Medium -> Oak, nuts, fruit and dark sweets.

EYE Amber NOSE Pine, honey, fruit, graham, banana’s foster, marshmallow, and a light cakey note. The pine is super present… but not in a bad way. It’s like walking out on my porch (I live in a cabin on a mountain). PALATE Banana taffy, pine, vanilla, graham, wax, and a grainy sweetness with a touch of cake. Ok, not what I was expecting. The palate is quite a bit different than the aroma, but not terrible. FINISH Medium -> Herbal pine, caramel, graham, grainy sweetness, and saline.

There’s something in there that’s almost a fruity sweetness, but not quite. An intriguing sweet note. PALATE Caramel, oak, graham, cocoa, vanilla, baking spice and some leather with a bit of nuts. This is one of the spicier Kentucky Owl bourbons I’ve tasted. FINISH Med-long -> Baking spice, oak and some citrus pop in before fading to hazelnuts and vanilla. -

Uncle Nearest Master Blend Edition
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 27, 2022 (edited October 16, 2022)NOSE Oak, dark fruit, baking spice, biscuity, caramel, char, vanilla and dark cocoa. The oak hangs heavy here, but after a few seconds, it breaks up a bit and allows a rich profile of sweetness, spice and baked goods come through. PALATE Oak, dark fruit, baking spice, biscuity, caramel, char, vanilla and dark cocoa. A rich carbon copy of the aroma that glides over the palate even at full cask strength. This is mighty tasty. FINISH Long -> Oak, dark fruit, cocoa and baking spice
