Tastes

All the typical peat stuff... big green egg, asphalt, charred meat, excessively smoked bacon (in a good way), some type of baked fish. But wait, there’s chocolate, bananas foster, and a very subtle dried fruit and sugar. This is wonderful. If I had two hours and three ounces I think I write pages on it. Wonderful. Complex. Tasty. ***Easter Egg*** Let the glass sit ten minutes after you’re done then smell...have you ever dropped a hot dog in a campfire?

Local store pick I grabbed. Really cool whiskey. Tobacco, leather, peanuts, brown sugar and cherry coke on the nose. Leather, sugary pecans and a citrusy finish. Cool dram. Excited to taste this again at the end of the bottle.

Sweet tea and pipe tobacco are dominant throughout. On the nose and taste. Bit of bite on the tongue. Leathery goodness, too. So glad to finally taste this.

This will always be a five for me. Maybe it’s not perfect, but it has too many of my favorite memories connected with it. Sweet on the nose: caramelized sugar, chocolate, honey, and some weird creamed corn thing (there’s a first time for everything) Taste is the bomb. Sweet, soft (is that a thing??), there’s the sugar again, and a finish of hot chocolate powder. Divine.

Nose: chocolate covered cherries, baking spices, seasoned wood Taste: cherries, syrup, brown sugar pie crust, cinnamon apple muffin Leathery finish. What are we doing here? 10 years? Wowza. Beauty.

Nose: licorice, spearmint, cinnamon and oak Taste: pencil shavings, cinnamon, licorice, anise Ok. I see you.

Nose: Brine, tobacco, 100 cocoa, twizzlers, baking spices Taste: tobacco, cinnamon, cherry twizzlers, coffee grounds Finish: chocolate covered cherries Good stuff. Not gonna break my back for it.

Kinda interesting. Nowhere near as smoky as it started. Sweet, simple. Bit of dark chocolate and juniper. I like to drink this mindlessly. Not something I’m gonna discuss or spend a lot of time on mentally.

Gosh. If you were just starting on peat I’d go here. Sweet sweet sweet. Well, there’s a bit of meat. But mostly chocolatey. The finish is like someone poured Hershey’s syrup down my throat.
