Floor 1 warehouse I Nose: Heavy and traditional with chard oak Pallet: The flavor does not match the heavy nose, not as strong as expected. Lots of caramel and mellows out towards the back. Finish: For 90 proof there’s a kick of cinnamon at the end. The bottle has been half full for a year so it has had plenty of time to breathe and it has gotten better.

Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed May 16, 2021 (edited April 10, 2022)Nose: Light spice Pallet: Can almost get a hint of cinnamon with the char. Nothing stands out other than a good quality bourbon at a great price. Finish: Tart and a touch dry. Like it’s asking for a splash of coke. Trying to finish off some open bottles before summer comes and found this in the back of the cabinet. For $23 how can you go wrong, everything that Jim Beam has, touch more heat but a higher ratio of flavor. Michigan does not sell the 8 year double age but will have to find a bottle.23.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose: Light with hints our malted grain Pallet: vanilla on the front that turns oakey on the rear. Finish: What I would say is a classic Canadian whiskey finish with a hint of heat. This was a store pick from the Wine Palace and they get a couple barrels a year. Will continue to get these when they come in for the nights that I just want something easy to sip on.60.0 USD per BottleWine Palace

The first time I had this a couple years ago I remember not being impressed. Coming back to the bottle lost in the back of the cabinet I find it having excellent flavor. Having a second pour while grilling burgers I find it being flavorful with a dry spice to it. At 100 proof this will sneak up on you as I’m having with an ice ball. Need to have this neat on a different night. May get into a Knob Creek kick.

High West A Midwinter Night's Dram
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed May 4, 2021 (edited October 3, 2022)Act 8 Scene 4 Nose: The wine spice has opened up with the Rye undertone. Pallet: Heavy on the dried fruit with a middle taste of wine and then back to the fruit. Finish: The wine spice has leveled off and now it’s a bit on the middle side now with a touch of wine tannins. Has gotten better as the bottle has had time to breath. Will get one for this falls release and 2 if I can. -
Nose: Light with a slight some medicine, may be a hint if clover in there. Pallet: Overall smooth with some bitter wild flower notes and overall light flavor. Finish: End quickly with with a lingering of cinnamon and tingle. This is a decent bottle, for a $40 single barrel it meets expectations on price but it won’t become something that I have to have in my collection. I tend to enjoy something more sweet but in some cases others may enjoying this if your pallet enjoys something more tart. 2nd and 3rd impressions are much more enjoyable than the first.40.0 USD per Bottle

Had a quick glass with my neighbor last night on the first 80 degree day. The first time I had this it was just okay and a bit let down. The glass last night was surprisingly pleasant and will have to do a full tasting in the future. Originally I would had said pass but now it’s much better after it had time to breathe.

Nose: a little unsettled and raw but not over powering. Pallet: Heavy spice on the tip but smooths out as it goes back with a nice flavor. Finish: Surprisingly calm with an after bite of heat. For the right price I would not turn down a bottle. Considering the 130 proof it’s very good if you like a high proof.t12.0 USD per PourPark Place Gastropub

Baker's Single Barrel Bourbon 7 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2021 (edited May 18, 2021)Nose: Nice amount of aroma with a sweet baking spice notes. No complaints on the nose. Pallet: Hot of the front and mid, good flavor but drinks like a full 107 proof. Finish: The spice carries all the way through and some would consider a little over powering so but I didn’t mid it as a siper. Tried Stagg Jr first so that may have changed my thoughts. Would like to see it a little smoother but being available on demand for $60, when the time comes I’ll hit a bottle. Need to try against the 1792 full proof.7.0 USD per PourPark Place Gastropub -
