Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 20, 2021 (edited March 6, 2021)Only have a sample bottle, after breathing with a small cube of ice it started the open up and got a little smoother. Over all it is not unpleasant to sip on the rocks. May be worth getting a bottle to do a full tasting on with friends. -
Nose: Simple spice, heavy on the pepper Pallet: Rye spice on the front which is nice but ends in peppery. If that was mellowed out this pour would rate higher. Finish: Sour with some heat Just one dimensional. Working on finishing off the bottle, it’s okay, not worth the 90pts that distiller gave it. If you’re a JIm Beam fan you should have this on our bar. I’ll likely have one just in case someone is a fan and for $23 it’s easy to keep around...

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited February 26, 2021)Nose: Soft and smooth Pallet: You can taste the wheat and it softens the flavor. Vanilla and the sweetness of the barrel are what come through. Finish: Falls a little short but not unpleasant. Perhaps a bit sour in this pour. For $30 this would be a great daily drinker, if you could find it. I’d pay $50 for this bottle, I get the Weller hype but there are better choices out there but they do cost more. Just wish there was more available.30.0 USD per BottleTJ's Market -
10 mocha staves Nose: Smooth with a clean spice to it. Makes you want to keep trying it to try a pin point the different aromas. Pallet: It gets warm on the tongue Finish: This is where the chocolate come in and all the way through the finish. Very unique. You have to let it sit and breath, then all of the flavor comes out. Could only get one bottle but wish there was another.70.0 USD per BottleKakos Fine Wine, Beer & Spirits

Nose: Strong and sweet Pallet: Spice notes with hints of caramel, there is a warmness that develops. There is a thickness as you work through the tongue. Finish: It ends with a warm spice The nose is best part about this pour. It’s not overly complex for a 12 year old. Will need to try it again to see if I’m more impressed for the second round.50.0 USD per Bottle

Reviewed January 18, 2021 (edited July 7, 2021)Nose: Light and sweet with just a hint of bourbon Pallet: notes of oaks and honey Finish: A sweetness that ends with a tingle. 7 years and 90 proof makes this a smooth pour. This is my first wheat whiskey and I like it. Will have to try this in an old fashion but for now I’m enjoying this neat. This one needs a barrel proof!30.0 USD per BottleTJ's Market -
Nose: Bourbon singe and it’s nice Pallet: bitty on the front and light on the tongue rest of the tongue, barrel notes and sugar. Finish: Spice that turns to sweet Gifted a bottle from a friend, not available in Michigan. This is a good bottle, at 100 proof it has a bit and the 10 years gives it character.50.0 USD per Bottle
