Nose: Sweet with Rye Spice. Vanilla with pepper and Pine Palate: A nice blend of rye spice and traditional bourbon flavors like vanilla, oak. I would describe it as bourbon friendly rye. Finish: Medium-Short with a slightly viscous mouthfeel. Rye spice delivers a fairly nice finish. Overall a solid whisky. Bourbon friendky that i think is perfect for cocktails. Can be drunk on its own but probably not my first choice

Nose: Pine and Mint are the two big things that come through. Vanilla and oak take a back seat but are slightky there. Palate: Nose translates almost identically, I do wish the flavors were a little more full. Not too complex. Finish: Fairly short and mouthfeel is thin. A decent mixer whisky. I dont think it stands up well enough in its own to sip. If you want the rye flavor i think its good and cheap enough for cocktails.

Nose: Fairly straightforward, oak, vanilla and honey come in and deliver. Slight notes of baking spices and oak. Palate: nose translates fairly well. There is a slight tang at the end of it that i cant quite put my finger on that isnt my favorite experience. But besides that its a fairly well rounded and solid whisky. Finish. Short-medium with a decent mouthfeel. Honey is the main thing i get off of it. Overall a solid mid shelf whisky that delivers on classic bourbon flavors. The only major point to dislike it is the price point is higher than a lot of similar whiskys which lowers its appeal.

Nose: very sweet, rich red fruit, some vanilla and oak as well. Smaller presence of baking spices, and tobacco. Palate: bakiny spices come in stronger here. Kostly cinnamon and coriander. Fruit flavors and vanilla take a backseat, so less sweet and more spicy. Finish: medium finish with a solid mouthfeel. Oak and vanilla come back in the finish to give it a nice rounded experience. Overall a really solid whisky with some moderate complexity. Proof isnt overbearing and the flavor is quite exceptional. Definitely worth buying.

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 15, 2024 (edited April 22, 2024)A very solid bourbon On the nose the high rye mashbill makes itself know with a larger presence of baking spices, but i get underlying notes of things like apple. On the palate the flavors become a very nice blend of apple, cinnamon, and other baking spices. The rye flavor is also there but not overwhelming. The more traditional bourbon flavors like oak and vanilla are there almost in a supporting role. Finish is medium long and pleasant. Reminds me the most of a fall pie filling, sweet and spicy. -
Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 15, 2024 (edited May 2, 2024)On the nose its fairly sweet, with maple and caramel being the biggest thing i smell. On the palate theres a bunch of flavors. Vanilla, oak, caramel, hints of walnut, a slight sweet bread flavor as well. Finish is medium and pleasant with a distinctive smoothness. Would definitely but again. A very solid double oaked bourbon. -
Nose: Fairly straighforward with a lot of the basic whisky notes here. Vanilla, oak, some baking spaces. There is more complexity here, i can pick up new notes all the time with this. Sometimes ill pick up roasted hazelnuts, others ill get red grapes. Palate: Oak and spices like cinnamon come through here. Again complexity is nice here, a lot of different flavors i can pick up, like vanilla, red fruit, nuts. For me personally, i get a weird sour tang on the back of the palate that is really off putting. Finish: Medium finish, and light to medium mouthfeel. Cinnamon and Coriander are the thing i get most. A solid whiskey thats has a slightly different flavor profile and feel than other whiskeys in its range. I didn’t jive with it a ton, but definitely worth trying.

Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 1, 2024 (edited May 2, 2024)Nose: Fruit (cherry, grape), vanilla, oak are all present on the nose. I do get some small notes of Nuts. Palate: Nose translates fairly well. Predominately rasberries, peanuts, and rye spice. Oak and Vanilla are more subtle. Finish: The mouthfeel on this one is nicer than other whiskeys in its price range. The finish could be longer and have a little more flavor but not unpleasant by any means, the peanut flavor stands out here more. Overall could definitly see this being a daily sipper type whiskey. Almost like a mix between Buffalo Trace and Jim Beam in a good way. -
Nose: pretty mellow, sweet, with notes of atrawberry vanilla. Mostly get vanilla, coriander, some berries. It reminds me the most of strawberries or even strawberry shortcake. mouthfeel is slightly creamy but it leaves me desiring a little more out of it. A slight oak bitterness as well. Finish: fairly short with oak being the main thing i get out of it. Fairly standard, smooth and easy to drink with a lot of normal whiskey flavors. More mellow than other more standard bourbons but not necessarily a bad thing. Incredibly inoffensive, but i dont think I’d buy this expression from Maker’s again.

Corazón Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed March 18, 2024 (edited April 22, 2024)Its not bad by any means, i just felt the flavors lf it were a little lacking. The vanilla, oak, and agave flavor was all fairly muted, which made it difficukt to use in cocktails. It is fairly smooth which is nice. Probably best for sipping, less for cocktails.
