This is a wonderful NAS and dare I say feels like the Hakushu (gentle peat, sweet and fruity) getting extracted from a hibiki (spicy and fruity/floral). To me this really can be a really good substitute to both of this and give it a run for it’s Money - unique in its own way. I really felt that the Oban 14 respectfully (so many swear by this) falls short in many ways but this really is a NAS that lives up. Well done Oban just please price this right.

Sullivans Cove XO Single Cask
Other Brandy — Tasmania, Australia
Reviewed April 21, 2018 (edited June 1, 2023)Tastes like a whisky drinkers brandy and brandy and I like it. But for 280 I’d spend my money elsewhere. Packaging is nice and understand that this is from a locally sourced winery owned by one o Sullivan’s cove’s owners and uses a similar process -
Sullivans Cove French Oak Port Cask
Single Malt — Tasmania, Australia
Reviewed April 21, 2018 (edited November 1, 2018)Rich, full and bold and simply Australian. There is wonderful caramel and spice topped by Christmas pudding. Had batch TD 0113 at the distillery (21/4/18) and if the double oak is breakfast and the American oak is lunch this skips dinner and goes straight to dessert. I still have a bottle of HH 0376 waiting to be opened on a special day can’t wait
