Tastes like an overpriced Werther's Original

Pretty much if you like Old Tub you'll like these (yes I know barrels differ).. So then it's about price. 108 proof in the mid 20s is a good deal. I've seen it for $40 though. Nope.

Definitely not bad but also an odd flavor. I get stale now and plenty mixed with fennel seeds, like they set out at Indian restaurants. Bit of a burn for 92 proof. Once your mindset is prepared for this experience, it is pleasant. But if you're in the mood for a more "traditional" flavor, this one might catch you off guard.

Tastes like pouring yeast down your throat. Worst purchase I've ever made. Worth 12 bucks.

When I first uncorked this bottle, I thought it was great. Halfway through and it just tastes like perfume, almost to the point where I can't drink it anymore.

I pretty much posted the same thing on the 1897. Good bourbon. The price point isn't really where it should be. I haven't directly tasted against the OF 86 proof, but I don't know that I would rather have this for 45 for a 750 as a daily sipper than the 86 proof at 40 for a 1.75. And 1910 and 1920 are on a completely different level. Still, it's Old Forester which means it's pretty damn good.

This is a tough bottle to place. It's good. It's not great. 1910 is $50 and 1920 is $45, and a 1.75L of OF 100 proof is $40. I think this is just a bad price point for this to be at. It's definitely worth checking out, and right now I like having the whole collection on my shelf, but I probably won't repurchase. Comparable BIB offerings for much less are available.
