Tastes

It's tasty. A charred honey, ashy tobacco notes and white fruits.

White chocolate and pear on nose. Bitter, sour, woody palate. A cigar type finish.

An easy sipper just like Eagle Rare. All the flavor is up front and then it disappears on the back end. Oak and sweetness, some citrus peel. Not worth more than $65.

It's better than average. Bitter and salty, toasted honey on the nose some melon fruits. Has a hint of rubber band smell. A wee ethanol and antagonistic on the palate. I wouldn't buy again, but I wouldn't turn down a free dram of this.

This is a hot sipper. Leather, oak, spice, ground cherry pits bitterness. It has good mouthfeel and good oily texture. Long finish also. Add a little water to tamp down the heat. Reminiscent of OGD 114 with a splash of water.

Nothing offensive at this price range. Mandarin orange sweetness with some peat smoke. An easy two note scotch to share with company.

Floral, citrus, light sweetness and some tobacco notes. Has a good nose. Has a little dryness to it, a little more honey sweetness would round it off well. Worth keeping a second bottle.

A decent young bourbon. Is a bit bitey but big notes of dusty peanut and citrus. Take the burn out with some water. A few more years in the barrel would have been very interesting. Maybe even Old Grandad territory. Bardstown bought out Green River so it's unknown what will happen to this bottling in the future.

A good dram. Neat it is a bit lively, but a splash of water really brings out the fruity notes.Bitter and peaty on the finish. It has one of the loudest corks in the business. Will buy again.

A really good scotch. It really sets itself apart. My second visit with this was Dr. Pepper on the nose and now that's all I can think about. The palate is butter and burnt ginger and citrus notes. Fully coats the mouth with bitterness.
