Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish

An incredible nose! So rich and complex, one of my favorite noses if all time! The palate is good but leaves lots of the sweetness out that added the complexity to the nose that i loved. The palate leaves a bit to be desired compared to the nose. And finished well brining back some of those nose notes. Nose: smokey sweet red wine, raisins, slight hint of spice, mental picture is a ham covered in a sweet jam and then baked. Incredible nose. Briskety goodness. Palate: smokey and light molasses. Classic Laphroaig with peat, and spice, but higher abv 48% and raisins from the sherry. Finish: medium, returns back to the nose in taste.

Nose - peaty, raisinish. Gives off strong wine vibes. There is a mintyness to it. Farily complex nose. Sweet and funky at the same time. Strong sherry hits! After waiting for some time and giving it a sniff i get a hit of red grapes! Tongue - sweetness from the sherry, combined with medicinal peat. Its like drinking red wine with peat in it. Very unique. Raisins and prunes, with hints of burnt wood and charcoal. I love the aftertaste. The red wine feel is like a semi dry style wine. Much better than the regular laphroaig 10. Love the color! Finish is medium. After letting it is sip, it opened a little and it got spicy. I prefer the nose over the tongue!! But a really good dram!

Sweet, salty, and smokey! Classic laphroig tastes of smoke, dried fruit with sherry sweetness coming through towards the finish.

Diese abschließende Lagerung in den frischen Sherryfässern sorgt für besonders intensive Aromen und mehr Tiefe. Der Islay-Malt kommt ungefärbt und unfiltriert mit ehrlichen 48 % in die Flasche. So schmeckt er: Der Laphroaig 10 yo Sherry Oak startet mit einem überraschend weichen, fast seidigen Mundgefühl ins Tasting. Süßlich-rauchige Aromen erinnern an Crème brûlée mit flambierten Aprikosen und Marzipan mit Orangenschale. Dazu die feinen, weinartigen Noten des Sherrys. Ab dem Mittelteil folgen mineralische Aromen von Felsenstaub, Erde und Lehm. Markanter Torfrauch, röstiges Eichenholz und prickelnder bunter Pfeffer prägen das eindrucksvolle Finale.

a good sherry with laphorg character. Peaty, ink at nose like laphorg signature scent, then vaporized down to a good subtle sherry, a good smooth sherry not lousy ones.
