Limavady Single Barrel Single Malt

A rich, Single Barrel Single Malt Irish Whiskey by Master Distiller Darryl McNally for Limavady Distillery in Ireland. It is crafted with 100% Irish Barley & 3x distilled in Copper Pot Stills; matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks & bottled at 46% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, dried fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich life adds notes of plums & vanilla, that led to a warm death of medium length adding notes of oak, caramel & almonds. Smells like an unpeated scotch on the nose. The palate is light and cereal. Pretty good, I do wonder what it would taste like with more age as it does taste young.

Good for what it is. The youth has a noticeable presence, but that doesn't make this bad in any way. SiB, craft presentation, $40-45, this is a prettt solid buy.

Aroma is sweet, fruity, orange, cherry. I taste oak, vanilla, orange, sweet, cherry fruity. The nose and taste are very similar. The sweetness lingers a short time.
