Pinhook Rye'd On

This was an okay pour. Definitely had some dried fruit on the nose. I think it would be a good mixer but I did not care for it neat.

Young, but interesting flavors. Get a lot of green apple and brightness

Good daily drinker

Nose: rye spice and slight hint of fresh mint, raw honey, caramel apple, and light cereal undertones. Palate: Caramel apples punches through first in the mouth then fades to rye spice. The barrel influence comes through as a slight vanilla on the finish. Finish: long, thick and chewy. It's a decent rye, but I think needs a little more age. Promising stuff from Pinhook and Castle & Key.

Nose - Lemon grass and Spiced Apples. No real note of rye. Mild and kind of buttery. On the pallet there is a mild fruitness with the apple coming through and the rye makes a mild showing after the apple on the front. Then a hint of tobbaco after the fade. It falls off just short of the perfect time. Almost long enough to make a memory,but then it fades. Crisp and dry in the end. This would make a great mid summer day sipper outside no matter the reason. I can't wait to see what this does after sitting in a barrel 4 more years.

Nose: crisp light apple, very subtle caramel Palette: caramel and sweet, hard to pick out notes Finish: very subtle rye spice that doesn't linger long. Unique for a rye, very good. Rye Humor Lot 1
