7 years 42.5% vol. Bourbon + French wine + Hungerian oak casks Nose: welcoming, sweet, soft. Caramel, sweet corn, maple (bourbon nose). Neither overwhelming or intense. Taste: sweet, liquorish consistency, thick, some spiciness pinching your tongue, light kick. Way too sweet for me. Finish: mouthful sweetness Very interesting, it's sweet but not in a bourbon type of way. Great to pour for someone new to whiskey, who prefer cocktails. It's 42.5% ABV, they need to add a bit more for deeper perception Great digestive in my opinion. No sugar needed in Old Fashioned Affordable price. Too sweet for my taste, but I'm glad that Canada has such a cool company as Bearface, they are modern and experimental... sometimes there's no need to invent a new wheel, but I'm curious to try other stuff from them. Doub I'll by it again40.0 CAD per Bottle

No age statement 40% vol. Colored, triple distilled Sherry casks. Nose: intense, fresh and clean aroma. Not sophisticated, pretty simple typicall Irish notes- summer fruits, apples, pear, lychee + sherry influence. Smells so good that it's seems not natural, artificial... Honey, grass and some wet wood also there. Palate: it's triple distilled, but because it's still young you can feel some sharp edges. Bittersweet, fruit cake, copper. Finish: hard candy, pear, apple seeds. Spice pinch. Irish + sherry = awesome stuff! Confession: bought this just because of cool bottle and affordable price.... And I really happy that I did that - best thing that I have tried in a long time. Such a refreshing breeze among these confusing times. Need to do head to head comparison with Black Bush. Compare with Writers Tears, Sexton way superior. It's tastes good and looks good on you shelf as well, so grab one ASAP.49.0 CAD per Bottle

Powers John's Lane Release 12 Year
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed October 8, 2021 (edited November 16, 2021)Nose: read apples, mature aromatic fruits, bourbon cream + wood, toast. Interesting, complex and rich aroma. Heavier aroma than Green Spot, not so crisp. Less bourbon notes than RedBreast 12, Palate: sweet vanilla at first touch, intense after, dry, Irish typical pot taste, spices. Finish: nice and soft with light tart notes. I like nose more than RedBreast 12, because bourbon notes is downgrade for me. Also love Powers 46% vol. Definitely adds a character. But palate and finish I prefer in RB 12, especially aftertaste... I pleasantly surprised by Powers 12... Really as good as famous RedBreast 12. For someone may be even better... -
Glen Grant 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed September 27, 2021 (edited December 8, 2021)43% vol Nose: baked apples, fruits, honey, floral, nuttiness, wet wood Palate: dry, spices at start on tongue, nut shell, fruit sweetness, malt. Finish: light, caramel/honey sweetness, fruit pastry. Received this bottle as a present and was pleasantly surprised by it's high quality and excellent tasting experience. Clean and balanced. And love the 43% vol Such a wonderful find! True hidden gem. Can't find what cask types were used but by the taste I assuming it's ex-bourbon. -
Nose: refreshing, typical Irish cooper pot aroma, green fruits (lots of green apples), light vanilla, hard candy, some spices, apple seeds bitterness. Palate: soft but you can still feel a presence. Cooper, cloves, green apple peels. Finish: refreshing, grassy, fruit peel. Nice sherry cask influence. Overall light and well balanced dram.

No age statement 100% rye, Cooper pot New Oak barrels Nose: Aroma is intense. Baking spices, rye bread, vanilla, honey. Ethanol. Dried fruits (prunes, figs...). It's fully opens up after some time breathing. It's like bourbon, but you can tell it's another breed. Palate: tenacious and easy going at the same time. Tea tannins, sweet oak. Mulled wine type spices ( cinnamon sticks, cloves, star aniseed, orange, brown sugar and vanilla). Not punchy Finish: medium. Pepper, tannins, toffee I believe it's like Canadian whiskey supposed to be, old true rye - stories about you heard from your old folks Best Rye I ever tried so far Ps: it's 39 cad - awesome dram for a buck39.0 CAD per Bottle

Nose: sea breeze, damp smoke, wet wood from shipwreck, smoked meat, fruit sweetness (pear?), citrus. Palate: intense, peppery spiciness followed by peat and smoke and sea salt after. Sweetness of burned oak. More pepper. Black/white pepper. Finish: long, salty, same burned sweet oak aftertaste (bourbon cask influence), spices. Pepper again. I love spiced/hot food and have no problem with all sorts of peppers - but in Talisker I can feel a LOT of pepper. It's not bad, it's just there and you know it I can't recommend this whiskey to someone who are absolutely new to peated (or Isla) types of whiskey. Especially on the palate side. This one you may say for "advance users only". It's not soft, it's brutal, it's mature. Like old seaman at Norwegian fishing vessel. I'm still young myself (whiskey-wise) to fully appreciate it. I love Isla and Peat. And I love Talisker 10. It's not so heavily peated as Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg, it's not Isla whiskey after all... Ps: I wish it wasn't colored. Talisker doesn't need it.

12 yo. 43% vol. No coloring Sherry casks (Pedro Ximenex & Oloroso) Nose: crisp, full bodied, mature, sweet notes - vanilla, dark honey, fruits (apple, pear...), oak, autumn leaves. Ginger bread. Light smoke after splash of water. True Sherry Bomb! Palate: Spice pinch on tongue but oversl very soft. Nice, rich and complex. Dark caramel, sherry sweetness, oak. Finish: long, sherry sweet, dried fruits. Prunes. Tannin Perfect Fall drink - in the taste and mood. Full bodied, fruity with spices - not too soft and light. Not refreshing - more sophisticated and rich. Not a daily sipper for me. No coloring added + 43% vol - another pluses for me. With head to head comparison with the RedBrest 12 I'll prefere Irish one... softness and triple distillation is for me despite the heavy bourbon influence Glendronach 12 tastes well above its price point so definitely will buy again.83.0 CAD per Bottle
