Nose: Bountiful fruit, citrus and tropical. There's a single, powerful fruit I can't quite name. Palate: More fruit, bright and tangy. The taste lingers for a good while, but the burn is quick and low, though a bit nasally. Personally, I love whiskey. It's a favorite and I've been nursing this bottle for a while!

Nose: Just a whiff of this whiskey is enough to tell it's a little young, though I do not get much corn. Letting it sit in a glencairn for a bit brings out some baking spices, rye, and oddly a hint of homemade rolls. Palate: Considering the proof it hits kind of hard. There's a flash of warmth to the mouth feel, which although thin, carries muted spice, black pepper, and lingering astringents. Successive tastes really l, strongly reminds me of Crackerjacks. I would drink this again, but I wouldn't call this my everyday bourbon.

Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2022 (edited March 24, 2022)Vanilla on the nose, no hint of ethanol or corn. Maybe a whisper of caramel, but a decent helping of fruit. The scent is somewhat forgetable. On the palate, thin and completely lacking in oil or viscosity. The mid to back-end is spicy, black or green peppercorn, which is tough to miss. No heat to it either. Not bad, but I'm not sure I'll replace the bottle when empty. -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 FAE-01
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 27, 2022 (edited March 29, 2022)The nose on this is incredibly sweet, caramel and corn. It has a dry, slightly oaked taste that brings a pleasant bloom of warmth to the chest. The finish is definitely dry, of middling length with a hint of campfire. -
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 26, 2022 (edited January 28, 2022)Shoulder pour. The nose is quite tame, barely a hint of caramel and no ethanol. It starts off with bold, spicy black pepper and astringents. The astringent's sourness lingers and brings an almost youthful burn to the tongue, but virtually no heat to the chest.41.99 USD per Bottle -
After nearly finishing bottle one, I decided to write up a quick tasting. On the nose a lot of ethanol early on, but after giving it a few shakes a whiff of vanilla is found with a touch of oak. The palate is thinner than I would have thought for the proof, barely a mouth-coater with burnt sugar and caramel being predominant with a reasonable warmth. The finish is enduring, but without a lot of the earlier heat. Definitely worth the price, but not any sort of secondary markup.31.99 USD per Bottle

Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Indiana Whiskey Co 'Just Whiskey'
Bourbon — Indiana, USA
Reviewed November 11, 2020 (edited December 10, 2020)Initial nose is that of a young whiskey, but after a lingering moment vanilla wafts up. First sip is mild, almost neutral in flavor. Eventually the finish has notes of vanilla and a sweetener or spice I cannot quite name - maybe molasses? There's a small lingering burn that's borderline appealing.
