full oak and smoked peat and iodized salt hits like a hammer in this one. not an easy whisky, but one of the best.

My favorite single malt. Balanced malt and smoke, a little salt and sweet grain, a joy to drink. Not overly peaty, and light on the ethanol. If I could have only one bottle of Scotch, this would be it. Jan 2022: only one that beats it is the Lagavulin Distllers Edition 2021 that I just tried.

Unusual vanilla oak chip in the bottle. Light, sweet, floral, and then ethanol on the finish. Young, unfinished, needs age. Interesting and well worth trying for the experiment value, but...

Cereal with sweet fruit, spicy rye pepper, and wood smoke. Big punch and great for mixing at the price.
