Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 13, 2018 (edited November 6, 2024)sweet butterscotch, smoky oak, pepper and a little heat at 115 proof. best over an ice chunk. Came back to revisit this 2018 taste in 2021. Vanilla, chocolate, and brown sugar on the nose. Carmel corn and spiced peanuts, dark fruit, chocolate, and lots of spicy grassy rye on the palette. Coating mouthfeel and a little char smoke. Big complex flavors and ethanol burst. Such a great bourbon, better and better. -
St. George Single Malt Lot 17
American Single Malt — California, USA
Reviewed July 13, 2018 (edited June 13, 2023)Outstanding representation of a single malt Irish style by a great distillery. Grassy and salty, sweet cereal grain, light light light peat smoke, floral finish. Hard to find...like a jackalope.95.0 USD per Bottle -
Outstandingly different. Pine forest, wet pine duff, sage, and earthy spice over the juniper base. Smells like a wet Douglas Fir forest. Juniper, coriander, and sage come through in the mouth and hold on into a light mint and citrus finish. Thick and rich in the mouth. Wonderful neat or with ice, and aromatic in a cocktail. Not everyone will appreciate this, and not perfect in every kind of cocktail, but an unique gin, worthy of drinking and experimenting.34.0 USD per Bottle

St. George Botanivore Gin
Modern Gin — California, USA
Reviewed July 13, 2018 (edited December 23, 2019)Juniper and floral citrus, full mouthfeel. A little too floral (lavender, herbal) and citrus for my taste, but excellent quality and representation of what it is, a New American gin. Another great quality St. George product. -
