Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 10, 2024 (edited October 21, 2024)This is one of those kick in the teeth fire bourbons. Reminds me of a high proof four roses or Elijah Craig. Caramel fire, but a little bit too sweet for me. Almost syrupy, which is surprising given the proof. Still quite nice. -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2022 BRT-02
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed January 31, 2024 (edited February 7, 2024)Massive oak wave on the nose, flavors too. Just an assault of barrel, but over a sweet bed of toffee and caramel sweetness. Excellently blended, and feels balanced despite the huge wood kick. Medium body, but feels almost thick because of the heaviness of the flavor. Love this. -
Barrell Craft Spirits Gray Label Dovetail (2022 Release)
Other Whiskey — Multiple Countries
Reviewed January 31, 2024The nose is light, can't place the aroma. Maybe congac? The flavor definitely has some congac sweetness to it but so much else. Layers and layers of flavor that open up into the tail. My palate isn't good enough to pick out all that's in here but it's absolutely fantastic. I could drink this forever. The Muse Whiskey Bar & Coffee Shop -
