Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 18, 2018 (edited June 5, 2018)Very nice. Not sure I would go so far as to call this perfect but it’s pretty damn close if you like sherried whisky or Macallan anything. Price is definitely on the high side. For the money I like the Macallan no2 better. -
Compass Box Great King St Artist's Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed April 12, 2018 (edited June 5, 2018)3.5 stars really. Nice blended scotch when you’re not in the mood to drink the expensive more complex stuff. Very smooth and friendly. Other reviews called out apple pie and I can see that after a few dram. This blend is really friendly and easy to drink... both neat and with an ice cube. Similar to Compass Box Asyla but with a bit more body and bit heavier. Careful with this one... 2-3 pours go down pretty easily. $35 at total wine. Good value for a solid blended scotch. -
Taste like freedom! I’m normally a scotch drinker but occasionally like a nice bourbon. Agree with most of the comments... this taste more expensive than it cost. My bourbon pallet is still developing but I get peppery sweetness that taste a bit toasty but not quite Smokey. Bit strong for me neat, really liked it with an ice cube or two. 3.8 stars

Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 18, 2018 (edited June 5, 2018)Sets the bar for a sherried whiskey. My standard go to for years but lately I like other whiskies for the money. Feels overpriced now that I have played the field a bit. -
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 18, 2018 (edited April 12, 2018)Tried a pour at a bar. Not overly impressed. Sweet... maybe a bit too sweet. Nothing to write home about. The Quinta and Lasanta are much more noteworthy
