Nose: intoxicating nose. Lots of caramel, some smoky char, and as it opened up started getting more tobacco notes. I get some black tea notes as well with just a touch of spice. Palate: caramel and oak are the dominant flavors I pick up. It does drink a bit hot. Finish: caramel and oak bounces back and forth with some dark red fruit in the back ground. Really complex and really awesome nose. Only knock on this is it hits hard and hot in the palate.

Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye (2020 Release)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 26, 2020Nose: this is a spice bomb. But I get some spruce and a mocha note. As it opened up I got a bit more oak. Really unique. Palate: baking spices dominant Finish. Spicy finish too but it balances out with some oak and vanilla. Nose on this thing smells like Christmas, definitely stands out. -
Nose: this is an oak bomb for me. Vanilla is the second dominant note. If I dig deep I get some peach and black pepper Palate: oak and vanilla continues to dominate. The flavors really pop Finish: a nice long oak finish. A touch of a smoky note then the vanilla to sweeten it up. Every aspect of this was impressive.

George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2020)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 20, 2020 (edited December 24, 2020)This is phenomenal. Nose: amazing oak and tobacco and vanilla and caramel. Get some vibrant cherries. Palate: oak, vanilla, and cherries. Finish: long vanilla and oak finish. Cherries and oak intermingle and it comes across as cedar. Just what I want in a bourbon. -
Nose: Brown Sugar, leather, and oak for me. When I look for a fruit I think I pick up on candied cherries. Palate: More dry than the nose indicates. Dry leather, brown sugar, and touch of cinnamon. Finish: Cinnamon, brown sugar, and oak kind of go back in forth, but I pick up on the candied cherries here for sure. A good warming that settles in your chest and slowly builds but is never overpowering. It doesn’t punch you in the mouth, it’s more on the subtle side. I think the finish is actually the best feature of this, which is a bit of a rarity for me.

Nose: Packs a cinnamon punch but you get the awesome vanilla, brown sugar, cake icing you get with EH Taylor. Almost get a Cool Whip note on the nose. Palate: Lots of cinnamon and vanilla. Some dark fruit in the background. It’s pretty sweet. Finish: a great mix of vanilla and cinnamon. Superb. Super easy drinking too.

Nose: Vanilla, oak, and apples. There is a slight note of band aid glue to this, it’s minor and doesn’t kill it. When the vanilla hits it’s fire. Palate: some dark fruit and vanilla. You get some alcohol burn all the way through. Finish. Apples creep back in but so does an allum note. It’s really “tight” and when the vanilla hits on the nose it’s really good. The band aid/allum note hangs in there unfortunately.
