Nose- mild oak and vanilla Palette- starts spicy and cinnamon and then tapers into oak and vanilla. Finish- lingering oak and vanilla with a spicy tingle. Overall- a budget bottle that has some layers. I was recommended this bottle and was reluctant to buy it. But after tasting it, there is plenty of complexity to enjoy! A fun budget bottle.25.0 USD per Bottle

Booker’s Bourbon batch 2021-01 “Donohoe’s Batch” Nose- Vanilla, oak, salted caramel, and spices. Palate- a spicy opening gives way to a smooth finish. Baking spices to start and then a sweet plum. Finish- smooth with a vanilla and plum after taste. Overall- a complex bourbon with a lot going on. A high proof creates an initial burn, but gives way to a multitude of flavors. That said, with everything going on, the flavors compliment each other. Great whiskey!100.0 USD per Bottle

High West Son of Bourye
Other Whiskey — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed December 10, 2021 (edited December 13, 2021)Nose- bourbon forward. Caramel and brown sugar, and vanilla. Palate- starts with the sweetness of the bourbon. Very high corn percentage. Cinnamon. Gives way to the rye and dry finish. More of a bready finish and aftertaste. Finish. Lingering sweetness and rye spicyness. Overall- a fun pour that feels more bourbon than rye although both elements are detected. -
Nose- caramel and vanilla. Light spice. Palate- initial taste of caramel and light spice. The transitions to vanilla and more spice on the finish. Finish- maintains light spice with an aftertaste of vanilla and caramel. Overall- not a smooth as it’s higher priced, high proof, counterparts. But where there is a rough edge, the flavor is overall sweet. For the price, it is a fun conversation piece, but maybe not give it to someone new to bourbons.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 8, 2021 (edited July 3, 2021)Nose- Can tell it is high proof. Sweet, sugary notes of vanilla and oak. Some brown sugar and slight caramel. Palate- starts sweet and almost fruity and transitions to caramel and almost a burnt sugar and cinnamon notes. Finish-Spicy finish where the high proof burns the tongue as it lingers. After notes of slightly burnt sugar and caramel. Overall- for a high proofed whiskey it is fairly smooth. It does linger longer than lower proof whiskey, but the expected “burn” is more spicy than an actual burn. The spice overpowers the slight fruitiness at the start and any other flavors though. Not an everyday drinker, but a fun addition to any collection and a conversation piece because of the high proof.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 2, 2021 (edited February 12, 2021)Nose- vanilla and oak notes. Slightly fruity sweet. Palate- chocolate covered cherries to start that folds into a slight vanilla and tingle of spice notes. Finish- mild vanilla and oak with a lingering fruity note. Overall- for a “budget” whiskey this is pretty complex with multiple layers. A first swig might render it as more basic than its reputation, but I keep uncovering more layers with each sip. It’s price makes you want to make it an everyday drinker, but it’s rarity makes you take your time. -
Nose- heavy smoke and peat. Slightly sweet. Palate- sweet and salty to start. Then becoming fruity and briny. Finish- sweet and peaty. Slight smoke flavor with a lingering apricot note. Overall- not as smooth or as many layers as the 16 year. A very sweet and smoky flavor that is a higher level than other islay scotches. An fun addition to any islay scotch collection.

Nose- Fruity and sweet. Light oak note. Palate- light and sweet to start. Slight floral note as it sits on the tongue. Finish- stays sweet with a light vanilla and oak flavor. Taste does not linger long. Overall- for a mid-budget tier whiskey this is fairly light. An easy drinking bourbon with different notes than most bourbons. Nice every day bourbon.50.0 USD per Bottle
