Nose- strong notes of caramel and vanilla. Slight leather and honey smell. Taste- strong taste of vanilla and oak. Caramel comes as the bourbon lingers on the tongue. Minor notes of stone fruit and raisin. Finish- lingering caramel and vanilla that lasts with a tingle. Overall- a very delicious single barrel offering. In my opinion a deeper flavor than other single barrel offerings. I seem to find something new every time I pour a glass. At 120 proof it is a very smooth whiskey that fits well in any collection50.0 USD per Bottle

Auchentoshan Blood Oak
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 14, 2020 (edited March 11, 2022)Nose- fruity and slightly like wine. Taste- very fruity to start. This is where the red whine cask is present. Then finishes with traditional Auchentoshan flavors of oak and fruit. Finishes with sweetness and slight citrus. Aftertaste- lingering flavors of red wine and fruit. Overall- a great sipping whiskey that is very different than tradition. Something different that does not disappoint. -
Nose- very mild oak and vanilla. Some fruit smell. Taste- very mild and smooth. Vanilla to start. Then nutty almond in the middle. Finish of slight oak and fruit. Finish- slightly Smokey oak that lingers on the tongue. Overall- very good sipping whiskey. More mild than the 12 year, less fruity but more of a smooth wood and vanilla taste. An oily whiskey that lingers. Very good 18 year.120.0 USD per Bottle

Nose- salty and sweet with slight fruit notes. Taste- oak and vanilla to start. Then a medium smoke that is not too forward. A finish of fruit and oak. After- lingering notes of oak and vanilla. Overall a mellow and sweet scotch. A great middle of the road scotch that has enough peat smoke to be present but not enough to overwhelm.

Woodford Reserve Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 5, 2020 (edited September 8, 2020)Nose- sweet and caramel with fruit. Taste- peppery and sweet at the start of a typical rye. As the whiskey lingers it almost seems like a bourbon with caramel and fruit notes. Perhaps the rye ratio is lower for this whiskey. Finish- the pepper returns with a spicy finish that lingers on the tongue. Similar to red pepper flakes. Overall- a nice sipping rye that works well in manhattans. Woodford is well known for its bourbon and does not stray too far into the realm of Rye as to turn people off. The traditional rye notes seem muted and the bourbon notes shine through. Overall a good foray into rye whiskey for someone used to bourbons.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Nose- light with pear and light fruit notes. Smell of peated scotch. Taste- light like a traditional Irish whiskey to start. Then caramel and apricot and pear notes. Finish of pear and caramel. Overall a light bodied whiskey as is traditional of an Irish with a heavy scotch note due to the peat.50.0 USD per Bottle

Nose- very mild. Notes of caramel and oak. Color and Body- Medium dark color. With a light to medium body. Taste- on the front it comes in somewhat powerful with the full oak and caramel flavor you would expect from a single barrel. On the palate, it mellows out and fruit notes of apricot and pear with a hint of vanilla. The finish is clean and the oak and sweet caramel flavor return. Finish- very smooth and somewhat spicy that will linger. Little to no burn. Overall- a fine sipping whiskey and a great single barrel for the price. A great 4 roses whiskey that is much more refined than the yellow label, but not to pretentious to forget its roots. A great whiskey for any occasion.38.0 USD per Bottle
