I guess I expected something special and different from this since it’s not technically a bourbon. It’s very sweet in a good way but nothing special. At over $50 for something low proof, I think better value can be found elsewhere. I’ve not had any of the high end michters that gets marked up but it seems to me there is a bit of Buffalo trace (which I like) overhype going on here. I would still love to try the ten year for an affordable price.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 15, 2022 (edited February 23, 2022)I try not to be that guy who hates on something just because it’s too mainstream. Just because jack Daniels is a big name among the casuals, doesn’t mean they can’t make some decent products for whiskey lovers. I have no problem shopping at Walmart for some stuff instead of Trader Joe’s. I’ll buy JD over Buffalo trace products if I truly enjoy it. I also am not ashamed to say Johnnie walker green label is one of my favorite single malts. So I’m not a snob. That being said, this stuff isn’t very good. A 2.75 is generous considering the price. It’s probably closer to a 2.5. I taste sweet corn and cinnamon with this but nothing more. I know jack daniels barrel proof is much more highly rated but I doubt I spend the money to try it because the lower end products like this, gentleman’s jack and no 7 have all underwhelmed. Can jack Daniels make a product I love? Probably. Have their lower end products inspired me to spend the coin to find out? Not a chance. -
I like woodford reserve double oak. I had hoped I would also like this. It’s definitely similar but just falls short. I get a windex aftertaste from this. Truthfully it underwhelms even in an old fashioned. It’s definitely possible I got a bad bottle and might feel differently some day but this just wasn’t for me.

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2022 (edited March 28, 2022)The more expensive scotch I drink the more I love this bottle. It’s not just a great value, but it’s a fantastic all around scotch. Asa previous review said, the brine flavor can almost taste like peat. -
Glenfarclas 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2022 (edited July 30, 2022)I really wanted to like this for a variety of reasons (family owned, cool logo, etc) but it just didn’t impress. It’s very weak. It could be a good introductory scotch for someone that wants an easy drinker but I find it to be boring. For the money, I can spend $6 more and get bruichladdich classic laddie and have an amazing flavor profile that never disappoints. I would like to try some older versions of glenfarclas but I won’t be buying a bottle based on this underwhelming experience. -
Chicken Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed January 1, 2022 (edited February 8, 2022)I would like it a lot better if it was about $15 cheaper. I just don’t think a 90 proof bourbon should cost this much. It’s by no means bad. The bottle is beautiful. I would buy it at $45 if I see it again. If you want an easy drinking bourbon, stick with angels envy at around $48. That being said, this is about as easy sipping as I’ve ever had. Buttery, vanilla flavor. -
Some fellow customer at Trader Joes told me this was a great value and suckered me in to buying this stuff. It's truly the worst bourbon I've ever had. I couldn hardly finish it even mixed to make an old fashioned. I'm going to try cooking with it and if that doesn't work, I'll pour it on on some overgrown bushes that I need removed. If you are considering this I suggest keeping your cash until a slightly cool evening and then lighting it on fire for warmth. In the end, you'll be better off.19.99 USD per Bottle

Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2021 (edited January 8, 2022)The more I drink it, the more I like it. If this were as hard to find as some other Bourbons I think the secondary market would be crazy. It’s so sweet with a warm finish. Update- I'm just going to add one more small detail that I love. It has to be one of the easiest bottles to pour that I've ever come across, especially compared to the Russell's SB that I slop all over the place.52.0 USD per Bottle
