I first opened this about 3 months ago the first to times I tried it I got strong notes of artificial Banana. I was not a fan then the 3rd pour it did well in a blind head to head. On the nose I get banana bread with oak , and some alcohol. On the palate it I get sweetness like banana runts, then some rye spice the finish is medium with a little oak at the end. Overall note up to par with the other whiskey row line up that I have tried. I still much prefer 1910 and 1920. Will likely not rebuy.50.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits - Premium Collection

George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Indiana, USA
Reviewed June 25, 2022 (edited August 31, 2022)First impressions where a not great and I had a lot of alcohol on the nose. I has been open about 1.5 weeks now and starting to open up. I get Carmel and vanilla with hints of oak and brown sugar. On the palate it starts out sweet with some sweet oak and then right into the rye spice the finish is medium with a slow burn on the palate that moves down to the chest. Overall not the most interesting pour, I would like to try the Remus Repel which I hear good things about.40.0 USD per BottleFine Wine and Good Spirits -
Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 21, 2022 (edited July 4, 2022)All I can say is wow!! This bourbon more complex then most other 90 proofers. I honestly thought this would be mediocre at best but boy was I wrong. On the nose I get vanilla and a ton of brown sugar very rich on the nose. There is a hint of fruit like a cherry or green apples. The first sip is spicy but sweet, after getting acclimated to the pour, darker notes come through. I get sweet honey and brown sugar. The finish is medium with a nice mouth coating, the vanilla comes through with a nice subtle oak very enjoyable. Such and easy pour to drink, only wish it was it was a little cheaper. I am super excited to try other Michter’s offerings, and look forward to all that they have to offer.50.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits -
On the noise I got nail polish remover. After backing the noise away from the glass I get cherry and grape, with hints of brown sugar, Carmel, and oak. The first thing I got on the palate was sweetness like green apple, some spice comes through mid palate like rye spice. The finish is short with mild oak and a little bitterness but not over powering. I would have to say I much prefer the double Oak best and would love to compare with other 90 proofers. Dare I say this is quite smooth and a good beginner pour, however this leaves much to be desired for seasoned bourbon drinker. Tired with a little water and it helps take the nail polish away and brings out more cherry and green apples and green grapes. The palate tones down and the spice goes away however the bitterness becomes a bit more pronounced and I don’t think I like it as well as I do neat.39.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection

On the noise I get a lot of malt, some hints of vanilla and Sherry. Very little sweetness like a dried raisin, the Sherry is noticeable, and the malted Barley is most present. The finish is short with hints of oak and smoke, the most dominating flavor I get is a straw/grass note. The finish is drying and crisp, overall not bad for a cheap Scotch.16.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits - Premium Collection

Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 12, 2022 (edited August 22, 2022)First impression the nose has a lot of vanilla with a nice oak presence, also a hint of cherry and green apple. The palate is sweet up front followed buy rye spice and charred oak. On second sip more sweet like Carmels and vanilla frosting, followed buy heavy barrel charred oak. This finish is medium with a nice slow burn, not to thick but makes your mouth water a little. Overall very good at the price, I still favor Old Forster 1910 for double oak pours.50.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits Premium Collection -
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 27, 2022 (edited June 27, 2022)This is a bargain for the proof point and availability. On the noise I get the typical peanut notes that come from Evan Williams. However I do get a very nice sweet note of vanilla frosting and a hint of cinnamon. Like the 86 proof sweet up front with peanut notes but this is more of a peanut brittle taste and less peanut shell. Surprisingly less spice and burn on the palate, there is faint oak and a slight barrel char note on the finish. All in all I would rate this a little higher then the 86 and it makes a great old fashioned with cherry bitters.20.0 USD per BottleFine Wine and Good Spirits -
On the nose I get peanut brittle, vanilla, and brown sugar, and strongest of all peanut shell. On the palate some sweetness kind of like I get in peanut butter, this quickly fades with rye spice and Peanut shells come through. On the back end peanut shells are the predominant flavor with a drying oak. Overall if you really enjoy peanut in your bourbon this is for you. Price point is very affordable giving this a good score.14.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits

Dewar's 12 Year The Ancestor (Discontinued)
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed April 21, 2022 (edited May 17, 2022)This was my first try at an aged Scotch, and a very approachable pour. On the nose I get a musty cereal note like honey nut Cheerios and ginger ale. On the palate I get sweetness up front like a dried apricot, which quickly transitions into candied ginger and pepper mid way through. On the back end there is some very lite oak and more pepper with an oily mouth feel. The finish is short to medium with a hint of orange zest and just a hint of smoke. All in all not a bad beginner Scotch and will be a reliable pour.30.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits -
Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 16, 2022 (edited May 7, 2022)Solid mixer and great budget whiskey, the nose is vanilla, oak, and a strong grassy note. On the palate the grassy note takes over like fresh cut hay, and baking spice. Mid way through the palate you get some astringent oak and a hint of sweetness. The finish is short but you get a nice Kentucky hug. This bourbon makes a banging Old Fashioned and for the price it is hard to beat.18.0 USD per BottleFine Wine & Good Spirits
