Somehow Glenmo was able to put the spirit of a forest in a bottle. A light peat in the background made this a pleasant dram for me. On the nose I got aromas of forest rain, wet wood, and fruity notes. The palate was sweet with the part lingering in the background. Overall, a good drink.

Suggested by a liquor store owner, I decided to give it a shot (not sure if he just wanted to get rid of the inventory or recommend a good dram). On the nose, there was something familiar and nice. A little oak, caramel, dark sugar... overall, nothing insulting. On the palate, it was good, with more oak and caramel notes and a little licorice toward the back end (at least for me). The finish was soft, medium lasting, but at 49%, this hits me on the spot. Not too hot, not too spicy, easy sipper. The cost is another subject. Overall, I think this is a good and easy sipper, but for the price of $80, in my area, is too much. For that price, you can get a Russell Reserve's Single Barrel, two Russell Reserve 10 years, or two Eagle Rare (if you can find them at MSRP). But I guess this is the trend with celebrity whiskeys. Outsource whiskey from reputable brands, do something different with them (put them in a trailer) and sell them at a higher price.

Opened this bottle and the aroma was very intriguing. Fruity and vanilla with a hint of peat, but the heat was on. It took several drops of water to calm the beast. The finish was long, but pleasant. I will have to comeback to this in a few months.

When I first opened the bottle, I got that great peat notes on the nose, with what I thought was bacon. I let it rest for about 20 minutes and the notes of meat/bacon disappear, and instead, I got some citrus and ash, but the ash note was not offensive. The palate gave me notes of smoked meat, iodine, ash, and a little saltiness. The finish is nice and long with the peat staying with you for the ride. A few drops of water toned down the peat notes on the nose and gave me a little pepper on the palate. I will have to come back to this in a few months to see how it develops.

I wanted one of the previous HP-15, but could not find one, so when this was released, I didn't twice about it. On the nose, there's peat, a little more present than I expected, but not too bad. I also got notes of citrus zest (lemon type), and maybe a little brine. The palate was nice, with more lemon zest notes, and choco notes (after a few swirls), is that right? a little bit towards the end, and the finish is long, with the peat lingering a little. I need to compare this with other HPs..

This is the first Aberfeldy Scotch I have tried and it didn't disappoint. The nose is fruity, with honey, berry, apples, and maybe a little cinnamon sugar (like in a cinnamon roll) and a little mint. The palate brings more honey, pepper, and a little oak. The finish is a little dry and medium lasting, with more pepper/spice at the end. Overall a very nice drink. I think I got this on sale for just over $100. At that price, anytime/any day.

Well, I got the "funk" note from Campbeltown on the nose with a little vanilla and honey, maybe a little ash. The palate was pleasant with a little sweetness, some peat, and spicy/pepper. The finish was medium-long, with the pepper notes lasting a little longer than expected. Overall I think this is ok, if you like that Campbeltown funk. After trying a few whiskies from that area, I have to honestly say that is not my type of whisky. It's not bad, but I tend to prefer Highland, Islands better.

This whiskey had an ok nose, honey, vanilla, and a little citrus. The palate was flat... like the few notes that I encountered on the nose just disappeared, and the finish is light and short. The 40% ABV is clearly evident, as my bottle tasted like it had a few extra ounces of water... diluted.

The nose has fruity notes, especially pineapple jumped at me, and a little honey. The palate has some artificial flavors. The finish is medium, with a little spicy/peppery. Overall, this is ok but is not one of my favs from Glenmorangie.

Neck pour tasting and it's amazing. The nose is full with fruity aromas that are not overpowering and have a great balance. The palate evolves over time, as in my first drink it was mostly fruits, but by my fourth, I started to pick up traces of chocolate/coffee?. The finish is medium with a little peppery/spicy. At 46 ABV, this is very enjoyable. The only negative is the price.... Many distilleries are creating these special releases, but then, Whamo! The price are so high.
