Ben Holladay 6 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Missouri, USA
Reviewed March 26, 2024 (edited March 27, 2024)The nose is very aromatic but more candy-like than cinnamon/allspice. The palate was sweet, not too spicy, and there was no pepper, but a very light, nutty flavor in the background came in at the end. The finish is medium to light, with no burn and no aftertaste. Overall, this was a very pleasant drink. At 50% ABV, this is right in my preferred range. -
The nose is very pleasant. A little of all spice or maybe cinamom, and brown or burn sugar. For these notes are what i consider traditional bourbon notes. The palate brings forward thise spices and oak, tart notes with a medium finish. For me this is a ok boirbon that can be enjoyed neat or with a cube of ice.

Macallan The Harmony Collection Intense Arabica
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 9, 2024There's an intoxicating sweetness on the nose, almost like sweetarts, but not artificial. There are also fruits like sherry and orange. The finish is short, but the palate is full of flavor. This whisky is so much different from other Macallan whiskeys that I have tried. Truly, it's a special dram. -
Knob Creek 12 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 2, 2023 (edited December 6, 2023)I was surprised bu the amount of wook/oak out if this one. When i tried the KC18, i expected to be oak forward, but not on the 12. Surprised. Besides that, at 100 proof, is right in my target zone. Spices are kight, maybe shadowed by the oak, caramel, burnt sugar is also clear to me. Overall a nice 12 year whiskey for srp. People go nuts and pay way too much for other 6-8 year whiskey. This one is a solid for thise that like thise oak notes. -
TINCUP 10 Year American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed November 18, 2023 (edited December 18, 2023)Due to the lower ABV, this is an easy sipper, but is more than that. This whiskey is full of flavors that are very pleasant on the palate and the nose. Overall, a very enjoyable drink. -
The color is like a dark bronze/copper color, and the aromas bring molasses, a little spice, and maybe a slight tobacco; very appealing but light (when I compared it with the regular Santa Teresa 1796 Solera Rum). The palate brings up some of the Speyside influence, but I feel it eliminated some of the good characteristics of the standard 1796. Some Speyside Scotches tend to be more honey, or citrus in flavor, followed by a "medicinal" thing... that comes forward on the palate, although lite. Instead, the tobacco/leather flavor almost disappeared, but I was able to find a trace of it towards the end. I appreciate the experiment, but in this case, I take the standard Santa Teresa 1796 over this one. Still a good drink/sipper.
