Tastes

Very light peat with caramel apples. Lightly sweet with barely a touch of peat on the palate. Smooth and very drinkable, just plain.

Honey, caramel, cinnamon, leather, full, sweet nose; light vanilla and barrel. Sweet, oaky taste with cherry, leather, black pepper and caramel. Very good flagship level stuff.

Sweet, potent aroma of maple syrup, baking spices, vanilla, rum, oak. Rich, sweet, spicy taste with vanilla, cinnamon and pepper.

Strong oak and char, vanilla, cherry, green apple, toasted caramel, maple syrup, a touch of soy sauce and some green herbs. On the palate toasty, woody, vanilla and caramel, with char, orange peel, more maple syrup, and cherry. Sweet dark cherry and charred wood finish.

Such a rich and full nose, with almost no heat. Caramel, apple, almond, hay, cocoa, creme brûlée, berries, oak, sherry. Tastes rich and sweet, vanilla, pepper, oak, caramel. Lovely.

Briny, lightly smoky peat, earth, crisp salt air, young oak and a touch of lightly smoked pork. Very nicely blended, very fresh, very smooth.

Rye, cherry, white pepper, grapefruit and wood. Medium-spicy, peppery, woody with clove and some fruit in the taste. Some heat but still nice and smooth. Certainly a nice bang for your buck.

Fresh greenery, citrusy and piney hops, a little wood, and vanilla nose. Hoppy, woody, pepper, pine, soft sweetness.

Nose of caramel, vanilla, oak, a touch of pear; fairly simple. Lightly sweet taste with pepper and spicy cinnamon. Neat it’s relatively one dimensional and hot for 80 proof, though it markedly improves with a little water, which exposes richness, body, and sweet honey, and really brings out the wine.
