Color: Chestnut / Tawny Nose: Cherry | Oak | Vanilla A delightfully fragrant nose that is incredibly inviting and well-rounded. No hints of ethanol but subtle sweetness. One of the better “noses” I have experienced that continues to develop over time. Palate: Medium-light mouth fell. Caramel and vanilla notes come through very quickly and overwhelm the background sweetness and oak sensed on the nose. A slow ethanol burn rises but never overpowers the palate. Finish: The heat towards the end of the palate fades out leaving you with a lingering finish of vanilla, caramel, and oak that slightly dries out your mouth. Almost slightly bitter due to the astringent effect. This is less present as the bourbon opens and likely even more so with a little water or a cube of ice.

Color: Golden Amber Nose: Molasses | Brown Sugar | Nutmeg | Breakfast Cereal One of the most distinct and favorable noses I can remember. I feel like you could pour it on pancakes or vanilla ice cream. Very mild ethanol. Palate: Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Very sweet up front with a similar profile as the nose with molasses and maple syrup coming through. I notice a mild spiciness I have come to associate with rye whiskeys but the palate is overall dominated by the rum notes. Finish: Sweetness and brown sugar persists despite a backing of ethanol. Very pleasant and lingering.

Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon (2019 Release)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed April 30, 2021 (edited May 13, 2021)Color: Burnt Umber / Old Oak Nose: Brown sugar| Oak | Vanilla | Cherry | Pecans. For the proof, this has a surprisingly sweet nose that peeks out from the ethanol. Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Toffee | Vanilla | Oak. This bourbon definitely opens up over time. I am reviewing this neat but a strong urge to add an ice cube or a splash of water. The ethanol quickly takes over and overpowers the palate. Finish: Incredibly long finish with an ethanol burn but not unpleasant. It is hard to explain but the sweet remnants of the palate remain despite the spicy, warmness of the proof. Mouthwatering and leaves you with a numb throat as if you sprayed Chloraseptic to treat sore throat. Possibly a reasonable alternative. -
Color: Pale Amber Nose: Not a whole lot there. Corn syrup. Ethanol with no real depth. Palate: Light mouthfeel. Very weak flavor profile. It almost feels watered-down but I guess somewhat expected at 80 proof. Nothing real memorable or off-putting. Finish: Very short. Mellow with little to no heat. Just not much to even describe. I am not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me but I swear I notice just an ever so slight hint of peanuts.

Color: Mahogany Nose: Peanuts | Vanilla | Caramel | Light Ethanol Classic nuttiness have noted in Beam products. Not as overwhelming and in your face as some of the Booker’s batches I have tasted but very present. Palate: Light to medium mouthfeel. Peanut flavors overwhelm the palate in addition to medium heat. Subtle notes of vanilla and caramel persist but the palate is somewhat overwhelmed by the nutty flavors. Finish: Very nice finish as the heat dissipates. The vanilla and caramel notes quickly dissipate leaving you with a rather pleasant oak and peanut finish.57.0 USD per Bottle

Weller 12 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited February 25, 2021)Color: Golden Auburn Nose: Incredibly pleasing nose. Almond and vanilla extract. Almost overly sweet but so pleasant. Like smelling a holiday Yankee candle. Minimal ethanol and a touch of oak. Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Slight sweetness but not overwhelming. Continued nuances of vanilla and almond with a pecan nuttiness. Wonderfully complex with different notes occurring with different sips. Perhaps a citrus backing? Finish: Long and memorable.37.0 USD per Bottle -
Color: Light gold, amber Nose: Peach | Strawberry | Light Oak. A surprisingly pleasant nose with a slight touch of ethanol. The youthfulness of this bourbon is subtle but present. Palate: Light mouthfeel. The fruitiness of the nose fails to come through. Light caramel and fresh wood notes that quickly dissipate. Finish: Short finish that doesn’t leave you with much. Not offensive, just not there.

Color: Chestnut gold Nose: A familiar nose I notice with young bourbons that I cannot quite place but it is off putting. A “funk” for a lack of a better term. Overwhelms the glass. Rubber….maybe? After a little research perhaps it is “corn-syrup”? A plastic Mattel doll... I am sad this is the first bourbon I have tried after I sprung for a four-piece set of Glencairn Whisky Glasses. C’est la vie. Palate: Light mouthfeel and a flabby palate. Thin with notes of fresh corn and… corn syrup. It just tastes undone. Little heat which surprised me due to the offensive nose. There is just nothing there. Finish: Finish is short and welcoming due to the overall palate. You could mix this but why would you.20.0 USD per Bottle

Color: Tawny/Auburn Nose: Light fruit notes initially with subtle cherry. As it opens up noted: Fresh Wood - Mild Ethanol - Vanilla - Caramel - Light citrus Palate: Light-medium mouthfeel. Slight amount of heat from the get go. Evolves with notes of caramel currant, and citrus. Finish: Persistent mouth-watering finish. The heat hangs around but not unpleasantly. Does not overwhelm the caramel palate that lingers. https://www.reddit.com/r/bourbon/comments/kmk4zr/review_1_blantons_single_barrel_with_blob/70.0 USD per Bottle
