    Suffering a bit from direct comparison to McClelland's Islay (which itself is not elite, but at least it's single malt). Some pleasant light peat and smoke, but this one remains best used in cocktails.

    I love all things Islay/peaty, and so I am happy enough drinking this. But it is missing the soul of a Laphroaig or Lagavulin. Decently peaty/smoky, but a bit thin and dull.

    Beautiful kiss of rhurbarb stands out, but there is some depth as this weaves together cola sweetness with a distinctly bitter finish with just a hint of mint. One of my favourites.

    Solid value proposition. Alpine style amaro with prominent (but not overbearing) menthol character. Slight rhurbarb character. Good balance between bitter and sweet.

    Really nice one. On the sweeter end of the spectrum for amari, but not oversweet. Definite cola character; perhaps a bit of sweet almond / amaretto as well. Subtle hint of mint in the finish.

    Excellent amaro. Citrus forward upfront before some nice herbal layers in the mid-palate (primarily rosemary). Bitter finish but counterbalanced by some sweeter vanilla notes earlier on. Reminds me a lot of Amaro Majora.

    Still a solid value play and drinking a touch better than I remember. A bit drier than most bourbons but still has some vanilla character. Decent finish; a touch harsh. Does have a bit of cardboard blandness though; won't be mistaken for an elite bourbon.

    I have to be honest; I think this bourbon is a bit overrated. Opens with a nice rich and robust vanilla/caramel type presence, but the finish is a bit chemically and harsh.
