Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 18, 2020 (edited October 29, 2020)Nose: sweet. Fruity (sour cherry). Winey. Faint nuttyness. More sweet less spice vs the 14yo port. The sherry influence is definitely there, but much more muted than for example a Glendronach. Palate: sweetness, baking spices then pungent spice. Finish: sweet, nuts, pungent spices stays for a long finish. Very subtle bitterness. More pungent than the 10yo but less than the 14yo port finished.Maglód -
For my taste very well balanced, not too oaky, nor too pungent, fruity, sweet. Only thing I am missing is the real character. Nose: vanilla sweet, fruity (candied orange), some warming spices. Much deeper and more rich than the 10yo. Palate: fresh spices, very sweet, nutty, warming spices in background from the beginning till the end. Finish: nuts, spices, moderate dryness. Quite long. Much longer than the original 10yo.Maglód

Nose: vanilla sweetness, warming spices and fruits. Apple. Some alcohol burn. Buiscuit. Palate: first soft, then spices, vanilla sweetness Finish: sweetness, spices. Some oaky dryness. With water: more friendly for me. Nose is same with no alcohol notes. On palate and finish much softer, less spicy, nuts. But very weak aftertaste.45.0 USD per BottleMaglód

Very nice blend. Nose: light yet complex. Cinnamon, vanilla, burnt sugar, orange. Sometimes really cereal, sometimes i feal strong apple, today smelled like wood. On first nose some acetone notes, later on it is more friendly. Palate: first very nice silky texture, cinnamon, Sweetness. Finish: warming spices, then becomes bit pungent . Nuts. Little dryness. This is a wonderful, everchanging whisky, unfortunately too oaky/spicey for my taste.45.0 USD per BottleMaglód

Nose: vanilla sweetness, citrus. Herbal notes. Later on herbal and sweet notes are more dominant. Palate: starts lightly. After few seconds spicyness kicks in with some sweet and nutty notes in the background. Aftertaste: nutty and pungent. Very nice dram, but too spicy and rough for my taste. Did not really change with water.Maglód

Nose: plum, (vanilla) sweet, must be careful can easily inhale alcohol. Predicts some spicy punch in the face. Taste: sweet, then the predicted punch comes in a form of pungent spices. Finish: sweet, spicy, moderately bitter. At the end some smokiness remains. Quality dram, but too spicy for my taste.Balatonszárszó
