While I don't have a lot of experience with blends, I feel this is well done. Lots of sweet fruit notes as to be expected. I don't view it as overly complicated. When I compare it side by side with single malts (usually something sherried), I tend to gravitate more to the single malts. Still I think orchard house is worth a try as it does have a niche

Got a taster at Tap Room in salt lake city. My rating here is taking price into consideration. It is a good whisky but my god it is way too expensive for a bottle. Almost 300 these days, I could get 4 bottles that are 75 and would be much happier. The palate is decent, but it's 43%?? If they released a version at 50% at a better price I'd be more convinced, but as it is? I don't think so.28.0 USD per Shot

Lagavulin Offerman Edition Caribbean Rum Cask Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed April 2, 2026For me it's pretty equal parts smoky, sweet, and salty. It's enjoyable enough but I think the flavors compete too much with each other. A couple of drops of water dull the sweetness slightly which actually makes the dram better for me. All in all if this was a 50-60 dollar whisky I'd be happy but at 90? Won't be pursuing this bottle again. -
GlenDronach Original 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 25, 2026 (edited January 28, 2026)This is a decent fruity cold weather dram. Lots of apple and dried fruit on the palate. It's quite oaky on the finish which doesn't work particularly well for me but overall still a good one!
