Nose- dark fruit, dark caramel Palate- cherry pie, lollipop sugar. Mouthfeel- sticky, heavy. Overall- some good rye sweetness upfront. Cut short by sticky sugar, just destroying the flavor and leaving a funky wetness with no rye spice. Finish of cheap licorice. Not impressed. 2 seconds of not bad, followed by what the.... just happened?

Beauty of a bottle. Smells good. Nothing crazy on the nose sweet baking spice with almost a sweet bbq sauce note. Mild oak. Tastes of faint apple taffy, nice vanilla, caramel baked monkey bread flavor in the mid with some nice heat, some citrus in there as well. Seems to get sweeter with the heat then the dry oak finishes it out. Ends sweet and dry. Well balanced, well worth the price. This is definitely what you think about when your talking about a classic bourbon.

Nose- alchohol and a strange earthyness. Not much. Palate- starts thick, sweet cherry wood, a tinge of vanilla frosting, the artificial type. Mid and finish start to dry out and feel like a rye. Spicy dry cinnamon disc. The start kinda lingers and stays sticky on the end. The sweet and sticky and the spicy dryness seem to fight each other and then settle into one another. I think this is a not so bad rendering of a classic. The sweetness is there of the OG but the older brandy finished whiskey adds some interesting dynamics.35.0 USD per Bottle

Nose- funky fruit, wood, Taste- Wow! Not sure I can explain the taste. If you married a wonderful apple pie with a wonderful cherry pie. Also a sweet cherry wood tobacco note. Nice spice & proof as well. Sticky wet long finish. Hands down the best bottle for the money I've ever experienced! Aroma is delightful, taste blows that away. This is not your typical bourbon profile, definitely a sweet finish based profile just done to perfection. I totally understand the cigar aspect of the project but this thing stands up alone. I think adding tobacco to the mix might kill the complexity, although a bit of smoke may work well with the sweeter flavors. BRAVO. I LOVE IT!

RD One Bourbon Finished with Brazilian Amburana Wood
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 9, 2023Nose- cinnamon graham cracker. Apple/apricot and a funky banana peel like aroma. Maple. More apple pie vibes as it sits. Palate- spicy apple jacks. Vanilla frosting. Fades fast. Some sweet subtle oak in the finish. Overall- very different. Delicious flavors upfront. Lacks a bit on the finish. Worth the buy.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Templeton Rye Barrel Strength (2022 Edition)
Rye — (bottled in) Iowa, USA
Reviewed December 7, 2023 (edited December 8, 2023)Nose- gentle sweet cinnamon, faint floral/fruity orange blossom. Dry oak. Theres a strange muskyness/funkyness maybe banana Palate- dry sweet cinnamon tangerine zing, quickly followed by that classic peppery rye spice, and a bit of heat. Fades out into a moderately long nice finish. Fruity and oaky on the back end with a slight floral note, quite nice. It starts dry, but the finish is kinda sticky and thick keeping the fruity/floral flavor around forever. I might not spend the $60 bucks on it but its close. I stole this @ $35 bucks on clearance. Would place it at $45-$50 for a fair price. Overall- one of the more dynamic Ryes I've had.35.0 USD per Bottle -
Bowman Brothers Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Virginia, USA
Reviewed November 2, 2023 (edited January 9, 2024)A- light gold N- sweet vanilla, delicate oak, licorice. P- sweet oak that lingers, fades into vanilla, cherry laffy taffy, super sweet tobacco, 2 flavor profiles that are A+ combination. M- medium body, nice lingering flavor coats the mouth. Its not super complex but the front lingers and the end fades in nicely and both are fantastic. O- overall maybe the best for the money bourbon I've had. Was expecting Buffalo Trace kind of vibes. This in my opinion is way better. Should be a 40-45 dollar bottle. What a treat.3299.0 USD per Bottle -
Appearance- apple cider Nose- licorice, grain, butterscotch. Taste- caramel apple, banana taffy, pepper, Mouth- starts wet and thick, dries in the middle averages out in the finish. Overall- I really love the balance. Smells like a butterscotch disc, taste is much more dynamic. The booze and sweet flavors make you want to keep sipping, neither overpowering the other. The oak is there, just covered in candy. Love this . Went in totally blind on this @$40+, definitely would purchase again at that price.42.0 USD per Bottle

Watch out its unaged and hot! After a quick alchohol flash and a strong grain forward flavor it settles quickly into a buttery marshmellow sweetness. Aftertase is appleish once the sweetness fades and your mouth drys out. Pretty impressive for a white whiskey seriously could sip this neat and be happy with every taste.20.0 USD per Bottle
