Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Seasoned Staves 48 Months
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 1, 2024Nose: strong marshmallow, some raisin Palette: sweet coriander and raisin, caramel comes out, more sugar and slight mint. Staves add that sugary flavor that over powers the tannins in the finish. Still better than standard BT. -
Westward American Single Malt Cask Strength
American Single Malt — Oregon , USA
Reviewed March 1, 2024Daveco select Nose: soft malty nose with chocolate notes. Palette: not what i was expecting! Minty chocolate that coats your entire mouth. Sweet oak moves in with a subtle malty finish. Almost like syrup. -
Nose: side by side, has the standard wheated bourbon nose: slight vanilla and caramel, but with more fruit. Papaya, stewed apples, oak. Palette: sweet cinnamon and cordial cherries, not as sweet as wheated standard, there seems to be a peanut note and some sweet rye present. The finish has short flavor but dry tannins linger. Id say an older candain rye is mixed in there. Perfect for the everyday, well balanced.
