Neat. Nose is naturally sweet and fruity agave, plenty of toasty oak, earthy minerals, citrus juice, and a touch of vanilla. Taste is true to nose. Agave nectar a big punch of oak and spicy black pepper and bark cinnamon. Followed up with some vanilla, caramel, and hints of cocoa, green herbs, anise, mint leaves, and tree nuts. Finish is nice and balanced with a tart sweetness, oak tannins, and herbs that are balanced with some vanilla, caramel and pepper. Mouthfeel is medium and natural Overall one of the best XAs out there. I'm a big fan of the entire El Tesoro line in the way they are very agave forward and additives are frowned upon. Value is good considering some inferior and better marketing bottles are about $30 more. The regular añejo is the value king, being half price. Consider this the añejo being turned up to 11 and is a big win for a special occasion sip for a true tequila fan100.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is sweet agave, very herbal, pepper, oak, grape must. Uniquely sweet and spicy. Taste starts sweet, agave, caramel, grape, oak, herbs/mint leaves, black pepper, milk chocolate, vanilla, and coffee bean. Finish is wine barrel sweet with light cocoa and a black pepper kick. It would be too sweet and dessert like if not for those herbal and pepper notes that add a lot of interest Mouthfeel is medium and a there is a little ethanol heat, that calms down with a little air time in the glass or as the bottle empties Overall, a unique tequila that shows off wine barrel aging vs the typical bourbon. Very flavorful and try worthy at this price and worth keeping a bottle around for the variety23.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is delicious. Burnt sugar, vanilla, cocoa butter, with green herbs, a hint of oak, and ethanol to balance. Taste is sweet agave, caramel, burnt sugar, milk chocolate, vanilla, anise, candied orange peel, pepper. Not much oak and smoke. Finish is easy and pleasant. Vanilla, saccharine, balanced with lightly bitter grassy herbs Overall, a balanced, pretty sipper. It lacks the intensity of many additive heavy anejos. This still shares many of those dessert flavors, but allows some more delicate complexity. Wouldn't recommend as a mixer as the flavors would be lost. Value is fair60.0 USD per Bottle

Espolòn Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed June 15, 2020 (edited January 31, 2021)Neat Nose is fairly light, balanced, and pleasant. Agave, spicy oak, slight vanilla, earth, and herbs. Taste is roasted agave, oak vanilla and spice. Finish is sweet, oaky and green herbs with a little pepper bite Easy, balanced, nuanced. A little bit of everything, but nothing dominates. There's a lack of artificial flavors that I can appreciate. Great juice and value make this a must have on the shelf19.0 USD per Bottle -
Don Julio 1942 Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed June 11, 2020 (edited June 17, 2020)Neat. Aroma is sweet caramel and butterscotch and a hint of oak and vanilla with very little ethanol heat. Taste starts agave sweet, oak, vanilla, some herbal notes. Finish stays sweet, but some herbal and saccharine bitter notes to partially balance it out Let's face it.. This is in a strange new category of status tequila. It's non offensive and you don't care that it's full of additives. You're buying this for the bottle and the 'prestige' It is better than some other cool bottle $100+ tequilas. But I much prefer the regular anejo version, regardless of price130.0 USD per Bottle -
El Tesoro Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed June 11, 2020 (edited March 10, 2021)Neat. Nose is delicate and balanced. Roasted agave, oak saw dust, green herbs. Taste is agave sweet, exotic fruits, oak and cedar, touch of vanila, some grassy tarragon, mint, pepper and minerals. Finish is medium with a more natural sweetness than most that perfectly balanced with bitter and sweet. Mouthfeel is a honest middle. Overall, this is a natural and well crafted tequila.. No dominating artificial flavors, and lots of flavors to discover and enjoy. This is a sipper. Mixing and shooting would be a waste.. Sip and savor. This may be my favorite line of tequila40.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose has a pretty strong alcohol heat, with some wood, earth, agave, vanilla, herbs. Taste starts with a punch, herbal bitter, a little cooked agave, vanilla and musty oak coming in and out after you get used to the bitterness. Some warm cinnamon and pepper toward the finish, with the herbs and some saccharine bittersweet and a little alcohol burn. Worth a try for those looking for a less sweet, crisp, herbal tequila with a little bite. Also would be nice in drinks to balance out any overly sweet mixers30.0 USD per Bottle

Dulce Vida Blanco 80 Proof Tequila
Tequila Blanco — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed May 22, 2020Neat. Aroma is bright with lots of green apple, grass, agave sweetness and some herbs and a little ethanol. Taste starts sugar sweet, but quickly followed by ctirus juice and pith, then green herbs like tarragon, mint, anise, hops? and spicy white and black pepper.. The 'heat' fades after a couple seconds leaving some minerals, green olive, green herbs, saccharine. The mouthfeel is on the thin side. Overall it's very energetic with the tangy citrus, herb, and spice, and a little bit of a bite. It's almost gin like minus the juniper. Good value and will likely buy again27.0 USD per Bottle -
Kirkland Tequila Añejo
Tequila Añejo — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed May 3, 2020 (edited January 26, 2022)Neat. NOM 1173, Lot A-1 Nose is sweet with caramel, vanilla, and a touch of oak, carob, leather, and alcohol. Taste starts out true to nose. Oaky caramel vanilla, syrupy sweet, then a hit of spicy cinnamon and cocoa toward the end. Finishes with that cinnamon spice, tannins and saccharine sweetness. Overall it tastes good, but not a fine artisinal tequila. The agave is lacking. Feels additive heavy to me. It has its charm. Value is good. It compares to other anejos that cost more for smaller bottles.20.0 USD per Bottle
