Neat. Nose is sugar cane, tropical fruit, coconut, slight fusel alcohol. Taste is smooth and less sweet than the nose, but the slight tropical fruit and slight coconut are there along with a hint of funk, if you look for it. Sippable, but really excels as a mixer. It's a nice upgrade for mixed drinks for just a few bucks more22.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is sweet and vanilla with some slight floral, green herbs, minerals, ash/char. Taste is agave sweet with some caramel, blossom honey, vanilla, cardamom, cake batter/cream soda, and green herbs. Any oak is minimal Finish is sweet, vanilla, and grassy/herbal and a touch of barrel spice. Overall, it tastes good, but doesn't taste like real tequila. There does seem to be a fair dose of additives. I prefer this to some $$$ pours such as Clase Azul and even the Don Julio 1942..but there are better pours of more authentic tequila for a little less63.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is agave, butterscotch, oak, pineapple, vanilla, musty earth and minerals. Taste starts richly sweet with fruity agave, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and a little cocoa. Oak and a little cedar for the wood notes. Some cinnamon, black pepper, and a little mint and alcohol bring it in balance. Finish is fairly long and slightly sweet with a fair bit of oak, cocoa, tame barrel spice/cinnamon and hint of anise A nice example of a smooth and sweet anejo that actually has some character. Newbies and connoisseurs could both enjoy44.0 USD per Bottle

Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 29, 2020 (edited April 11, 2021)Neat. Nose is fairly light. Oak, rye, baking spices, vanilla, light corn sweetness. Taste is oak,, corn, light caramel, vanilla, slight char, chocolate, and allspice. Finish is easy. Slightly tart with oak tannins and saccharin and vanilla powder. Easy drinking with little alcohol burn I accidentally picked up this bottle forgetting that they changed the label to remove the 81. While I'd still rather grab the 101 for a few bucks more, this is still a pretty decent any day neat sipper. Would be a great starter buy for those looking to sample a higher rye bourbon14.0 USD per Bottle -
Tequila Mi CAMPO Blanco
Tequila Blanco — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed July 26, 2020 (edited August 6, 2020)Neat. Nose is light sweet with roasted agave, white grapes, orange blossoms, slight oak, vanilla. Taste is agave, orange blossom honey, vanilla, touch of black pepper, oak. The finish is fairly short with tart sweetness, vanilla, and faint oak tannin Very smooth and easy to drink. Not the most complex, but it is tasty in a unique way as it is aged a few weeks in white wine barrels. Great drink for the $$22.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose is dessert like. Caramel, vanilla, slight hints of oak and agave Taste is true to that nose, but intense. Hard diet cream soda. I'd get more descriptive, but if you're looking for that.. this is going to be a pass. It 'tastes' good, it just doesn't taste like tequila Reminds me of Clase Azul Reposado, just a little thinner mouthfeel. So you could save some money if you like that flavor profile..you just don't get a cool bottle...but still it's way too much for the quality and cost that goes into it46.0 USD per Bottle

Chinaco Añejo Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Tamaulipas, Mexico
Reviewed July 24, 2020 (edited January 1, 2022)Neat. Nose is oak, earth, leather, herbs, with slight roasted agave, char, and a hint of vanilla. Very lovely and counter to many that are on the sweet/vanilla side. Taste is fairly light and starts with the oak, then mild sweetness from agave, honey/light caramel, anise. Finish is light and clean with some herbal bitterness, very light sweetness and an oily mouthfeel I really like what this tequila brings to my collection. The earthy/herbal/oily combination is unique and is a nice contrast to so many other tequilas. I'll keep a bottle around for the variety, but value is iffy for a regular pour68.0 USD per Bottle -
Neat. Nose is naturally sweet and fruity agave, plenty of toasty oak, earthy minerals, citrus juice, and a touch of vanilla. Taste is true to nose. Agave nectar a big punch of oak and spicy black pepper and bark cinnamon. Followed up with some vanilla, caramel, and hints of cocoa, green herbs, anise, mint leaves, and tree nuts. Finish is nice and balanced with a tart sweetness, oak tannins, and herbs that are balanced with some vanilla, caramel and pepper. Mouthfeel is medium and natural Overall one of the best XAs out there. I'm a big fan of the entire El Tesoro line in the way they are very agave forward and additives are frowned upon. Value is good considering some inferior and better marketing bottles are about $30 more. The regular añejo is the value king, being half price. Consider this the añejo being turned up to 11 and is a big win for a special occasion sip for a true tequila fan100.0 USD per Bottle

Neat. Nose is sweet agave, very herbal, pepper, oak, grape must. Uniquely sweet and spicy. Taste starts sweet, agave, caramel, grape, oak, herbs/mint leaves, black pepper, milk chocolate, vanilla, and coffee bean. Finish is wine barrel sweet with light cocoa and a black pepper kick. It would be too sweet and dessert like if not for those herbal and pepper notes that add a lot of interest Mouthfeel is medium and a there is a little ethanol heat, that calms down with a little air time in the glass or as the bottle empties Overall, a unique tequila that shows off wine barrel aging vs the typical bourbon. Very flavorful and try worthy at this price and worth keeping a bottle around for the variety23.0 USD per Bottle
