Obvious peaty smoke and medicinal notes on the nose. Not near Laphroaig levels of medicinal- that's like licking the floor of a surgery room. This hints at iodine but the smoke is more present. It's like a diet version of Lagavaulin 16. Where the Lagavaulin is meaty and tastes like liquid barbecue brisket this is more smoke and charcoal. Not bad if you like the smoky side of scotch.

Aberlour A'bunadh
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 16, 2019 (edited January 31, 2020)Big sherry sweet with a sharp alcohol bite due to cask strength. I put a couple drops in it and let it sit a bit and tried again, grape becomes more noticeable with the water. Opens it up nicely, makes it taste even more fruity and pulls the bite off. The finish with water is a little bitter. -
