Very Olde St. Nick 8 Year Estate Reserve Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed April 8, 2022 (edited April 9, 2022)Nose: cherry licorice Palate: it’s odd in a good way. it changes. First sip I got cherry. Second sip I got the Carmel and vanilla and all the spice. Finish: the finish lingers and coats the tongue. Overall: I paid 170 for this bottle. Is it worth 170? I don’t feel many drama are worth that much. This one is solid. At the cost and the availability is a bit ridiculous to actually buy another one. At most this should be a 90 dollar bottle. That being said. 4/5 solid pour -
Blue Run Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 24, 2022 (edited June 10, 2022)Nose: ethanol Palate: super spicy with vanilla and some Carmel Finish: this is where it shines. Long Kentucky hug. Spicy, lingers and warming. Overall: for me its more hype than delicious. I love a spicy rye but it lacks the complexity of a old scout smooth ambler cask strength rye or a willet blackened rye or the stellum black. The bottle is gorgeous. Designed by Nike I believe and some Facebook marketing guru. The juice was created by a master distiller. I like it but I won’t chase these other butterflies. I will come back to this one and see if it grows on me. -
Nose: it’s smells like one of those subtlety sweet ryes. Vanilla, Carmel and barrel spices with that hint of sweetness. Palate: vanilla and Carmel with brown sugar and rye spices. It’s subtle and really good. Finish: it hangs around with out any sharp edges. A great sipper whiskey. Easy drinker. Overall: it’s good. It’s not remarkable but if you offered me a pour I’m not going to turn it down. A solid rye. I came back to it after a pour some months ago. I was presently surprised.

Nose: Carmel, vanilla, barrel spices a bit of ethanol. Palate: cinnamon red hot candy shell with strong spice kick. Carmel. It’s like a Carmel cinnamon candy. Finish: long and lingers. Overall: 4/5 stars. This is a delightful pour. My bottle came from Aniger NC ABC store. Barrel picked by the store workers. It’s called the Crepe Myrtle select for the Crepe Myrtle city.

Overall: this is a delicious pour. Redbreast at cask strength is amazing. Cost me three bills and tax. I would gladly buy another bottle. -
Angel's Envy Rye Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks
Rye — USA
Reviewed March 8, 2022 (edited June 26, 2022)Nose: reminds me of pancakes. That’s not a bad thing. Its maple, butter, Carmel and brown sugar. It’s probably the best smelling rye I’ve ever had. Palate: outstanding. All that spice and sweet are so well balanced. The finish goes on and on. It leaves your entire mouth coated in this delicious balanced dram. Overall: I’ve heard some say its too sweet. For my palate is a great balance. Fantastic pour -

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 3, 2022Nose: cinnamon red hots candies on the nose Palate: the fireball or red hot candy coating mixed with barrel spices. A splash of vanilla and Carmel. It’s damn delicious Finish: long Kentucky hug. Overall: this is a great store pick from Southport ABC in North Carolina. This dram has had all the edges sanded right off. It’s 120 proof but drinks like it’s 90. No rough edges. Great bottle. -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2021-03 "Bardstown Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed February 26, 2022 (edited April 13, 2022)Nose: vanilla, Carmel, brown sugar and dark fruits. Palate: cherry red hots, carmels. It’s damn delicious. Finish: long lingering Kentucky hug. Overall: of all the 2021 batches of Bookers this one is to me the best of the bunch. Classic bourbon nose and bold flavors. It’s really the only one of 2021 I’d say was worth the 100 dollar price tag. Cheers y’all.
