I normally dont mention nose in my reviews but ill start off with this has a robust and smoky nose reminiscent of the power of the smell of a heavily peated scotch. the palate starts with some grilled pineapple, herbal notes like anise and fennel, green agave, lime peel, then gaining more robust notes of earth, rubbery smoke and heavy minerality. this mezcal is exceptionally oily and rich. While expensive i have no qualms about grabbing this on my own after beign gifted this generous tasting from a good customer.130.0 USD per BottleSpec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 6, 2023 (edited October 19, 2023)Immediately hit with immense notes of oak, anise, light coffee, molasses, and hay. Theres some fig and caramel in the body, but the finish overtakes everything. Its almost hard to remember you are drinking a bourbon, as the finish is very heavy on rye spice. Just an intense prickly spice that follows along with some hay and dashes of honey. this is a bad ass bottle, a whiskey thats robust and not for the faint of heart. for its proof it drinks much smoother, but its nothing to laugh at. very much enjoyed -
A dark and rich cocoa and fig off the bat, leading to a earrhy, rich malt, some sherry sweetness as well as some oaky pecan notes. Closer to the finish is cherrywood, mild baking spice that last a little short. The remainder of the finish goes back to the sherry casks. This is a great japanese whisky and maybe one of my favs. Will be jumping into more japanese malts500.0 USD per Bottle

A slight vanilla sweetness in the beginning which is overtaken by a wave of cereal/wheat. Theres mild oak, more prominent hay, cocoa, and a dash of maltiness. the finish shows more sweetness before ending in a long, mildy spicy and delicate cinnamon. I understand the hype on this one. Its a fantastic sipper thats easy going but still packing a wallop of flavor. Although its not as fruity and bright as 107 or have the intensity of full proof.

Still Austin Bottled in Bond Red Corn Bourbon Whiskey (Summer 2023)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed October 3, 2023 (edited October 6, 2023)Sweet corn off the bat, vanilla mostly with some roasted nuts. the body is semi dry though as it begins to pick up some lighter oak and hay notes, spiced apple slices and more ginger/spice notes pick up. The finish is also semi dry, with a medium length duration that carries spice but nothing sharp or overwhelming. This is an awesome whiskey thats sips easy, has alot of flavor and brings some cool red corn ingredients into the mix. -
maker's mark private selelction: the riddler
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed October 3, 2023 (edited October 6, 2023)A rich flood of vanilla, some molasses notes, green apple and lemon then comes some more robust notes, lots of leather, some prominent oak and hay, a rye spice comes heavier near the finish. Its a good dram, i just dont know if id grab it again. Nothing jumped out as spectacular but its definitely not a bad whiskey
