Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is a pretty decent Irish whiskey, but short in comparing to redbreast’s complexity and flavor. It’s flatter on the nose, and almost smelled like a scotch because the signature Irish whiskey winter green and menthol isn’t too strong, the taste is more Irish than the nose. The taste is flatter also. Easy drinking Irish whiskey. Don’t add water. -
This can be a pretty good scotch but def not for the faint of heart. It’s very smokey, more smoke than peat, and it’s getting a ashtray level smoke. I’m personally more of a fan of vegetal peat and gentler smoke, that was turning me off somewhat. But I can detect and appreciate the lovely scotch whisky underneath the smoke, which is very nice. I may like it better after I get more use to the smoke and peat, right now, it’s going to sit on my shelf.

Edradour 10 Year The Distillery Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)After tasting it again and again, I’m picking up dark chocolate and cherry on the nose, and leather become more prominent, as well as earthiness. The nose is consistent with the mouth feel, it’s like eating chocolate coated cherry, and sweet with a bit savory smoky note. The biggest issue with this is the finish is very short and light. Perhaps a beginner would appreciate it more. -
Edradour 10 Year The Distillery Edition
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is an interesting scotch. It’s unique with the process (I didn’t know they have several 10yr olds!) and with a natural colored scotch, the color is ridiculous. This nose is the better part, burned sugar/creme and a bit leather. The taste is smooth but the taste collapse quite a bit. The arrival is short, but it’s very gentle and smooth. I will come back to it to try again. It would be an easy sipping scotch.58.79 USD per Bottle -
Kaiyō The Single Mizunara Oak Finish
Blended — Japan
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited December 5, 2021)I have had good luck with Japanese whiskeys. This is a “single malt” that has been aged for at least 7 yrs and un-chill filtered. Not sure of the standard but the resulting scotch is a delicious one! The mizunara finish is very noticeable with the sandalwood/coconut creaminess that is on top of a very good malt whiskey. It’s flavorful, with depth in layers, savory and ocean-y note, sweet and a bit bright as well. It’s quite nice. There is a very distinguishing noun-toasted peanut flavor that is in both nose and taste, quite unique.44.99 USD per Bottle -
Bunnahabhain 12 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed December 12, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is a very good single malt scotch. Very fragrant with a lovely mouth feel. It’s fruity and floral, a bit of yummy smoke for balance. The taste is delicious, sweet and savory with a bit of tartness. All smooth and enjoyable. Will get a larger bottle. -
Kilkerran 12 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed December 11, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)I’m going back to this again and again, its savory cheesy umami note is so unique and different. I really do like it a lot. Giving it a 5 to up its rating. -
Smokey!! The name is well deserved. I was hoping the peat will translate better into the palate because the smoke and peat was quite nice in the nose. But the taste is like drinking liquid smoke. It’s quite intense and has a Smokey smoke bite, with quite a bitter after taste. I think this can be a good mixing whiskey for adding peat and smoke to other whiskeys. Interesting though.36.99 USD per Bottle

This is such a lovely whisky! Not sure what’s in it, but it’s delicious! It has a younger creamy smell, almost like an Irish whiskey, but it’s completely different on the nose, very smooth, some savory to it. The taste is consistent, it’s very sweet but that sweetness is short lived and it paves the way for a very smooth path of savory, buttery, chocolate cream flavor. Extremely pleasant to drink. Highly recommend.57.99 USD per Bottle

Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 9, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)After coming back to it again and again, I’m really falling in love with this peat flavor. It’s so delicious. It’s savory and meaty, it’s definitely umami. The finish of this whiskey is my favorite and it keeps me coming back to it. Lovely!
